We went for Sunday lunch at Berwick Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it. Reception is very welcoming and the fire was lovely especially with the miserable weather. The restaurant is lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely be returning when in the area

Was lucky enough to partake of a stunning 10-course culinary tour-de-force at Hattusa last night. The new Chef has been tipped for greatness for a while and I can now see why. Stunning food, great service and a great night all round. I heartily recommend Hattusa to anyone wanting a meal to impress, delight and savour. Hattusa currently doesn't have... More

We enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever had . Hattusa at Berwick Lodge had everything from a friendly warm welcome , excellent service throughout and food of the highest quality. A lovely setting in a wonderful country hotel , this restaurant is as good as any I have visited across the many countries I have visited.

We visited here for afternoon tea on a Sunday. Lovely place with a beautiful dining room and grounds. Clean and very well kept. The afternoon tea itself was delicious, fresh sandwiches and yummy cakes. However we felt like a bit of an afterthought. We had booked but they seemed surprised to see us. The general feeling was that we were... More

Had to go here on a corporate mission and expected to be disappointed by the usual safety in blandness, my experience was anything but that. Cloudy Bay by the glass in a quiet garden surrounded by squirrels art and a wisp of Lucky Strike smoke and then in to a private room for that would have delighted any Gastronaut lucke... More

I had my baby shower here, we had afternoon tea and there were 24 of us. We each paid £17 and were on tables of 8/9 people, when they bought in the afternoon tea, there was one small tray stand per table. The scones were not fresh, as i was pregnant I asked for no smoked salmon sandwiches, but I... More

Met up with old friends in the luxurious, characterful surroundings of Berwick Lodge and throughout the day were impressed by really helpful, friendly staff and delicious food: coffee (even cappuccino!) and freshly-baked biscuits then a bar meal of excellent soup, selection of charcuterie, lovely puds. Rest of menu looked good: interesting sarnies & more. A table was instantly set for... More

I ate here recently and although the food was of a high standard, and the service acceptable, the quantities served were so minimal that you felt hungry on your departure A good example of this was the Bouillabase which cost £23 and consisted of one langoustine, a small amount of squid, 2 spinach leaves and two thin slices of potato.... A bit tricky to get to but once here it's in a lovely setting. The house has lots of character and charm. We were looking forward to our little outing but I must admit that it all turned out to be disappointing. The coffee machine was apparently not working so one of us ended up with weak coffee instead of... More
