Classy Sunday lunch

10 of us had the 3 course Sunday lunch. Food was delicious and inventive. Dainty starters and desserts but heart main ( if you choose the Roast). The Duck egg main seemed a little small without side dishes. Service was excellent. Wine by the glass a little pricey (£8)

Me and the missus took my mum here for afternoon tea recently. We all came away disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place, but our experience didn't live up to expectations or the price tag. For £17 each we got 4 thin slices of rather tasteless sandwiches, which together amounted to a very small sandwich, some small, dry... More

Thank you for your recent feedback on your afternoon tea. I am absolutely mortified your experience was not as it should have been. I can only apologise . If you could possibly give me call so we can discuss this further that would be wonderful. Sarah More

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback . Since we have received your comments we have updated our wine list to make it easier to see the wines by the glass which start from £5.00 for a glass of Adega de Moncao . We look forward to seeing you back at Berwick Lodge again soon. Sarah More

Stayed at Berwick Lodge for my birthday and dined in the restaurant. Wonderful meal, excellent service and friendly staff. Not the cheapest meal but absolutely lovely! Will definitely be back.

We were a group of four friends taking afternoon tea. We were placed in the lounge in front of a welcoming log fire as requested. The service was attentive but not overbearing, and we were delighted with the selection of delicacies presented for our afternoon tea. The finger sandwiches were fresh and the scones were straight from the oven and... More

Went here for a birthday meal and was not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and interesting. The best pork cheeks I've ever tasted. Wonderful melt in the mouth lamb, tasty ham hock, summer vegetables & quail eggs, and a scrumptious lemon dessert. The wine was delicious, recommended by a waiter. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and professional.... More

Thank you for your lovely feedback . We are delighted you had such a wonderful time. Paul O Neill our Head Chef is the 2013 Roux Scholarship winner and his food is very exciting! We have a new summer menu now which is just as every bit as brilliant as the Spring menu. We hope to see you back again... More

We went for lunch on mothers day and was very happy. It is a lovely place and lunch was delicious. It wasn't over crowded and the atmosphere was lovely. My mum had a lovely time and that was what mattered. We did notice a lot of people saying how small the portions which was something we definitely did not agree... More

This was our second visit to Hattusa at Berwick Lodge. The Christmas Lunch did not disappoint. The food and service were exceptional and the individual courses (eight in total) were innovative and presented beautifully.

This is our second stay at Berwick lodge and our second amazing meal at Hattusa and we will undoubtedly be returning again. After reading the other reviews for this restaurant we felt compelled to write a review as feel the comments are completely unfair and do not do the staff or the outstanding head chef justice. The building is stunning,our... More

Had an afternoon tea at Berwick Lodge in January and it was lovely. Filled in one of their prize draw cards and popped it in the bowl and was fortunate enough to be a winner of a 3 course meal. My husband and I enjoyed a pre-valentines meal with little extra's such as amuse bouche and pre-dessert dishes. Lovely building... More

Not the easiest place to find, it’s down a dark and bumpy single lane road so I don’t imagine they get too much in the way of passing trade. But then, it’s not that sort of place. If driving there is too much hassle, there is a helipad in the garden. Even when you’ve actually arrived much of it is... More

Thanks for your review Blackth0rn. We have made some small changes to the layout of the restaurant to encourage warmth in these very cold months. The fire unfortunately is just aesthetic in the restaurant at the moment. I'm glad you had a good experience overall and thank you for your feedback. Sarah. More
