The journey was wonderful! A very beautiful setting up a long secret drive. Wild Spring flowers adorned the route. There seemed to be a few places to sit to have tea but we were shown into the dining room rather than the lounge which was fine as I prefer to sit at a table in any case. I was initially... More

I had the pleasure of dining at Berwick Lodge on a Friday lunchtime and have to say that the 3 course set menu for lunch at £22 for 3 courses was exceptional value for money. Although quite out of the way the location adds to the ambience, and it is a splendid building that is ideally suited to a good... More

Went here for a friends 40th Birthday party. Its a little haven in an area you would never expect it to be. My friend had organised afternoon tea for us all and we had this outside in their beautiful gardens. We were very lucky that for the majority of the afternoon the rain held off for us to enjoy it... Berwick Lodge is hard to find, but really worth doing. We had dinner in an elegant setting and each dish was a tasting experience. We eat out quite frequently, but this was the meal of the year.

Went here early Jan with my wife and a friend. We were told there was a new chef which can always be a bit of a worry but the food was excellent. All dishes excellent but particular highlights are the toffee soufflé and the cheeseboard is the best I have seen in a restaurant. It is not the formal setting... More

Wonderful setting & ambience. Food orders made and then informed that 2 choices were no longer available. Extremely slow service that it came to 1140pm and we still hadn't received coffee so we left. Water not replenished, it had to be requested, yet the wine was served readily! Hot desserts were served before the cheese board so our group was... More

Arranged a table via email(very helpful and attentive). Our guests arriving from London. Requested staff to greet them with drinks in the lounge. This was no problem at all. To be honest this was our first visit to Berwick Lodge and we were looking forward to sampling the food and atmosphere . We arrived to be greeted by a large... More

Interesting place, lunch for seven. Festive menu, all looked very good and was excellent. Service good but interesting! Waitress with doc martens on? Nothing against that but in a fine dining Restaurent? Cheese amazing and there was a change over of staff and the waiter later on clearly knew his stuff.

We have dined at Berwick Lodge on several occasions & have always been extremely pleased with our whole experience, always looking forward to our next visit. Unfortunately last evening we were very disappointed, something has changed at Berwick Lodge, at the start of the evening the usual pre dinner drinks & menu in the lounge had to be requested by... We visited a few weeks ago for Sunday lunch which is a set meal at £22.50 a head. Wines are expensive. The approach road is poor with numerous pot-holes to avoid. Bizarrely, when you have parked, you walk past all the dustbins which are between the car park and the main entrance. What stands out in my memory is my... More
