Description: On the corner of St Lukes Road sits The Star and Dove – a smart, welcoming pub and a favourite among Bristol’s young and trendy locals. Downstairs, there are two separate bar areas where you can lounge around on comfy sofas; while upstairs in the restaurant, the parquet floors, royal blue walls and huge windows create a bright and airy space. There are separate menus too, with the bar menu offering classic pub grub and the restaurant menu serving up top-class European cuisine. As if that wasn’t enough, the kitchen produces a seasonal tasting menu on the first Thursday of every month. There’s a great outside space, a concise wine list and a good selection of draught lagers – what more could you ask for?

Thank you to all the staff at The Star and Dove for making my birthday so special. We went on Sunday 23rd March and as there was so many of us (14) we had use of the private library room upstairs. It felt really special to have our own space and service was quick and attentive. We had a roast... More

I have driven past this pub on many occasions, but one afternoon I decided to pop in with a friend for dinner. I ordered pumpkin pie and was absolutely blown away!! My friend had pork belly and again, she couldn't believe how delicious the meal was. It's not very often I am blown away by a restaurant but this place... More

Food was great and tasty ambience good. Good servers. But too serious, banter is better. Tried it now so no need to rush back. Good value for what you are getting . 2 courses each, bottle wine 1 sides and 1 pud £65

I only ever comment on great service when it is due and the waiter that come and chatted with our table was great! Such a nice guys on a cold Sunday afternoon to warm us up. He had to explain the Sunday menu as there were quite a few things i didn't understand. The food was great we all had... More

went here last night for the 3 rd time, took about 15 mins to get a drink all the staff seemed more interested in the busy bar next door. Starters were amazing totally world class had the pottage of whyte pease and pork in green pea sauce fab. Main coarse had the rabbit which was tough and basically inedible. I... More

I went to a leaving do here on a Thursday night. The atmosphere was great, as was the decor. The drinks weren't over-priced, and the scotch eggs were absolutely amazing. One slight criticism - my steak baguette was slathered in a mustard-and-something-else topping that was so strong that it overwhelmed the steak. Next time I'll stick to the fabulous scotch... More

My husband booked us in for a "taster" menu at the Star and Dove in Totterdown Bristol. After several attempts to actually get to see a copy of the menu we eventually rang and were told it would be based on a "Jane Austin Novel" but the girl on the phone had no clue as to what that meant or... What a fantastic experience! A meal that you will never get elsewhere and like one you have never had before! Cannot speak highly enough of this very individual place. 5 course eating experience with the theme of Jane Austen and food that would have given back in her times. Highly inventive food and blends of textures and tastes. You have... More

Great food and lovely decor, but our Sunday lunch was rather spoilt by the loud band in the right-hand dining room. It was so noisy we had to shout across the table to be heard. Exhausting and pretty pointless trying to have a conversation with friends we hadn't seen for a while. If booking a table, I'd recommend asking to... More

A lovely place to go on a winter evening with friends to sample some of the gastro delights that the dove has to offer. A favourite of ours is the snack foods especially the Scotch eggs if you have a weakness for them. The dove offer a good range of ales beers and ciders and the food from the kitchen... More
