We tried this restaurant for the first time and were not disappointed - the food and service were very good - do not let the location put you off - close to the road and railway station and not in the upbeat riverside BUT the price for the quality of food is very reasonable :-)

Great staff (who had noted both my wife's food intolerance and our wedding anniversary). I wasn't expecting a decorated table on a Monday night. Well balanced menu with something for everyone and the flexibility to change items for individual preferences. The wine list is compact but I would again challenge anyone to not find something to their liking and the... More

Delightful little restaurant and they could not have been more helpful or accommodating. I asked for one of the pasta sauces without bacon as I am a vegetarian. This was no problem whatsoever as everything is freshly cooked to order. After our delicious meal we were deciding on desserts and as I have some issues with certain ingredients the chef... More

Very good Italian restaurant opposite the entrance to Temple Meads station. Both food and service were of a high standard. My calamari with chili dip starter was delicious and the veal Milanese with pasta was cooked just right. My wife’s minestrone and stroganoff were excellent too. Good wine list with lots of good value Italian wines that well complemented the... More

I have to say this was one of the best Italian meals I have had and who ever selects their seafood should be given a raise - the quality of the ingredients was exceptional. I thought the menu and specials offered a wide variety of choice and had many of my favourites but being a seafood fan opted for the... More

I visit Bristol quite regularly and Don Giovanni's is a definite on my list for either lunch or dinner. The choice has the usual Italian fayre on it but the quality is always superb. It's like you've stepped out of Bristol and ended up in Florence or Tuscany, the flavours are great. Wine choice is good and the staff are... More

Just popped out one day for food and wandered in as its a good close distance from home. Quick sharing starter and a meal each (for 2) including drinks came to a very reasonable £30. Portions were big (maybe too big!) but full of flavour, Menu was as expected for an Italian nothing spectacular but enough choice. Would visit again.

Went last Sat for dinner with husband, this was our first time visit. The menu choice is very simple, but it took me sometime to think of what to order, at last we have ordered a pizza and a pasta for share. When the dishes come, it really surprised me, they tasted like what we had in Italy!!! The ingredients... More
