Delightful little restaurant and they could not have been more helpful or accommodating. I asked for one of the pasta sauces without bacon as I am a vegetarian. This was no problem whatsoever as everything is freshly cooked to order. After our delicious meal we were deciding on desserts and as I have some issues with certain ingredients the chef... More

Very good Italian restaurant opposite the entrance to Temple Meads station. Both food and service were of a high standard. My calamari with chili dip starter was delicious and the veal Milanese with pasta was cooked just right. My wife’s minestrone and stroganoff were excellent too. Good wine list with lots of good value Italian wines that well complemented the... More

I have to say this was one of the best Italian meals I have had and who ever selects their seafood should be given a raise - the quality of the ingredients was exceptional. I thought the menu and specials offered a wide variety of choice and had many of my favourites but being a seafood fan opted for the... More

I visit Bristol quite regularly and Don Giovanni's is a definite on my list for either lunch or dinner. The choice has the usual Italian fayre on it but the quality is always superb. It's like you've stepped out of Bristol and ended up in Florence or Tuscany, the flavours are great. Wine choice is good and the staff are... More

Just popped out one day for food and wandered in as its a good close distance from home. Quick sharing starter and a meal each (for 2) including drinks came to a very reasonable £30. Portions were big (maybe too big!) but full of flavour, Menu was as expected for an Italian nothing spectacular but enough choice. Would visit again.

Went last Sat for dinner with husband, this was our first time visit. The menu choice is very simple, but it took me sometime to think of what to order, at last we have ordered a pizza and a pasta for share. When the dishes come, it really surprised me, they tasted like what we had in Italy!!! The ingredients... More

I'm not sure why people rave about this place. It has a very old fashioned menu, which I found frankly uninspired. Who dines out on chicken kiev? I had the margerita pizza, and I've definitely had better at Pizza Express. The excess of cheese made this greasy and there was not much flavour to it. My husband enjoyed his pasta... More

Dear 'Twilight Sparkle'??, with reference to your recent review, Im sorry we 'didnt live up to your expectations', however I am compelled to respond and set down some facts for the benefit of TA users due to the inaccurate and misleading nature of your review. You seem to confuse traditional and classical with 'old fashioned' when referring to my 'uninspirational'... More

Went last Saturday to celebrate daughters wedding anniversary, the service and food excellent. I had calamari with chilli jam after looking at recommendation on trip advisor and was the best starter ever really delicious. My main course was fillet steak with black peppercorn sauce and veg. I am fussy with steaks however this was done exactly how I like it... More

Went here back in March with my family as a quick eat on a Friday night. The meal was good and was quick to arrive however I didn't go home raving about it. I had the carbonara -but I have had better in other restaurants in the City centre. If you want a good meal then I would recommend but... More

Dear Georgina, thankyou for taking time to review us, reference your visit appprox 3 months ago?? and I'm sorry that you weren't completely impressed with your menu choice (carbonara) It's a shame you didn't make this known to your server when they checked your table back to ensure that everything was to your liking, we would happily have changed your...
