The Black Horse in the centre of Woburn is a quintessential English village pub with a truly fantastic restaurant tucked away inside. Make your way through the picturesque 18th century faade and cosy bar, and youll discover a rather chic dining room serving up delicious English dishes. With its exposed beams, friendly service and stellar best of British menu, this is the kind of place that invites you to kick back with a bottle of wine and while away a lazy afternoon. A little gem, The Black Horse even has a hidden courtyard which is splendidly sunny during the summer months. The Head Chef Trevor Blake has put together an accomplished menu featuring free range chicken and eggs, artisan cheeses, native fish and British cuts of lamb and beef. The menu at The Black Horse is exhaustive, and the brilliant food is accompanied by an exciting selection of wines and real ales.

Never fails to disappoint

Always our first choice when meeting up for a girly dinner / lunch, great service & great food!! You are not rushed to vacate your table afterwards either like some restaurants. We will return again soon!

The Black Horse, Woburn: we've visited here a few times over the past couple of years as Woburn is a civilised half way point to meet some friends for lunch or dinner. Woburn is a very pretty village, and you won't be stuck for opportunity to part with money providing you want either a meal, antiques or lavender scatter cushions... More

We chanced upon The Black Horse driving home last week. The place was gently buzzing but not too noisy. Although it was a busy Saturday evening and many tables were booked, staff found us a table which we could have for an hour or so before it's next booking. Despite the time pressure, we were not hurried! Excellent food and... More

Really sad to say that our most recent visit was a thorough dissapointment on all levels. This pub could be relied upon in recent times for a great atmosphere, friendly staff and decent food, not any more! The staff at the bar were friendly but the restaurant was a shambles, no friendly welcome by the front of house! one of... More

We had an reasonable evening here. It was busy, so customer service was hit and miss, given there were too few waiting staff. The food was good enough, although portion size was on the small side. I would have liked more vegetarian options on the menu and I have marked them down from 4 to 3 because of it.

We visited the Black Horse for dinner on Sunday for a mothers day celebration. It was really busy as one would expect but we were shown to a nice large table in an alcove straight away. There was a set mothers day menu for a fixed price but it did contain quite a choice of starters mains and desserts. I... More

This is a really nice pub with a very welcoming atmosphere and a good selection of beers. The staff were very helpful and the menu looked interesting. The food we ordered looked really good when it arrived but it was somehow quite tasteless which was such a shame. We also though the bill for 2 of us was quite high... More
