Everything about this place was perfect, the quaint building, pleasant staff, outstanding food, even the price (to me) was reasonable for what we had. The haggis, by the way, was incredible.

We've visited this restaurant many times over the years - they even hosted our wedding reception back in 2001. Sadly, we no longer live within easy reach but we made a made a point of staying nearby last week to have dinner on our way south to visit familly. The quality of the food, the service and the attention to... More

This restaurant has to be one of our favourites, it's quirky the front of house service is excellent the food is excellent you never know what you'll be having on the menu as they tend to cook what's in season.

From the moment we arrived it was obvious that David and his staff wanted us to have a lovely evening. Service was attentive but not overwhelming. We were a few minutes early but our table was ready and we were invited to take our drinks to the table and a basket of warm bread swiftly followed. The range and quality... More

Everything from arrival to departure was excellent. After premeal drinks, we were courteously escorted to our table, having already had our meal orders taken. There was a varied selection of starters, which from my point if view wasexcellent, as it included some wonderful haggis. Similarly from a varied main course menu, the evenings specials were pasra based. Three of our... More

We've visited this restaurant many times over the past few years and have, for some reason, never rated it on Trip Advisor. Time to put that right. The title almost says it all. What it doesn't say is the friendliness, adaptability and care that the owner and his staff take to make every visit an outstandingly good experience. Our last... More

We revisited this local restaurant which we had not been to for a few years. Good tasty original menu, a limited but well chosen wine list, and excellent and attentive service from the friendly owner and his team all lead to a very good evening.

We've tried to book here on a number of occasions but never got in because it's so popular and we seem to always leave it too late. But this Sunday managed to get in by chance,my wife had the roast and I had the duck both were very good but my wife thought the roast potatoes could be better and... More
