Great Food in beautiful village setting

Overlooking an open green area this lovely old pub was very welcoming and generous. Food excellent and well served. Friendly helpful staff and comfortable relaxing surroundings. Only improvement we could ask for is that it opened more often.

Neal and Joanne were delightful. Friendly and attentive to my varying needs. The room was fabulous in that it reflected the old world charm but my private bathroom was state of the art. Mornings with classical music and a cup of tea preluded delicious breakfast. I was often the only person dining but nothing was too much trouble. I will... More

My partner & I have just returned from a weekend break staying at The Garway Moon. We found The Garway Moon this summer while staying in our camper van @ the nearby Three Castles caravan site in Skenfrith. The Garway Moon restaurant was recommended to us then as a good place to eat & we enjoyed two excellent evening meals... More

Very interesting Menu - Debbie and I had Espetadas - Chicken for Debbie and Beef for me, which were well presented and delicious. First time ever I'd been in a pub where the farmer who'd provided the meat was drinking in the bar! Mother-in-law's Mussels pronounced the best she'd ever had. Good beers, interesting surroundings, friendly staff, and very much... More

Sunday lunch; moved away from roast and had wonderfully cooked sea bream and tasty sausages. A lovely local feel to this pub; rugby on TV but volume down so we could follow it but non-rugby-loving customers could ignore it. Efficient, friendly and responsive service by charming staff. Will definitely return.

We turned up with a large party. The Charcuterie sharing plates were an excellent suggestion by Neil as a starter. Not only were they delicious, with a variety of cured meats and pate, the conversation could still flow as people tucked in. Sirloin steak was excellent, cooked very nicely, all washed down by several bottles of a classic Crianza Rioja.... More

Booked last minute today for lunch and we were offered to go in their snug, as we had a baby in a pram. We couldn't ask for anything better. Great staff & great food all meant we had a great Sunday lunch, would highly recommend The Garway Moon to everyone. We each had a bit of everything for lunch Beef,... More
