What a pub! The Garway Moon is a wonderful and lively country pub on Garway Common. A wonderful building, dining area and bar area are a bit separated and there's a good crowd in both, enjoying food and beer. The food is absolutely brilliant, with both well cooked traditional meals and more creative dishes. Generous portions, all prepared with wonderfully... More

We visited the Garway Moon on Sunday after attending a wedding in the area. What a great place. The food was superb, very reasonably priced, and the landlord was a really nice and helpful fella to boot. I wish I had a pub like this in my local area - sadly I don't. We will be back!

Popped in for a couple of pints last Friday, welcome so nice, cider so good decided to come back for a meal Saturday. Not disappointed, very friendly staff, quick service, not just a pub menu but a few different things. We both had Duck starter, Ale stew (huge and very rich, lots of beef) wife had Fish Chowder (again a... More

This is what Country Inns should be like. We had a great two night stay here in March. The Inn is on a quiet B–road opposite the common in Garway. That said, it is very easy to get to Ross, Abergavenny & Hereford from there so ideally located. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Neil who is an excellent host,... More

Stopped here for lunch whilst out walking - excellent quality home-made burger. Went back again for dinner the next evening. Fish chowder. Gilly had a savoury pancake stack. All good grub. Just a little bit short of being very good but nothing at all about which to complain as such. Go and try it for yourself. Fine dining it is... More

Eaten here several times since discovering it by chance in January. The food is fantastic. The welcome from the owners and the atmosphere is exceptional. This pub/restaurant is up there with the very best in the area and in terms of value for money, there is no better.

The Garway Moon represents everything an Great British Pub in 2014 should be. It is a community hub that cares as much about its visitors as it does its locals. The food, high quality locally sourced and beautifully cooked and presented. The Beer, (the important bit!) is varied; well kept real ales, quality continental lagers and local ciders. Neil and...
