The Beech Tree Inn is a family restaurant and bar situated just north of Glasgow. We serve good bar food at value for money prices. In addition, we have a good range of light meals and snacks. We also stock a wide range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. We have a great beer garden with a children's play area, pygmy goats, mini Shetland ponies, ducks, rabbits, & zebra finches for the kids to enjoy looking at.

Very pleasant

After a long walk the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was good with most of the walkers heading for the west highland way

Cold inside from staff and surroundings, poor welcome for West Highland Way visitors made to feel like second class citizens

I have visited here various times in the past couple of years, always enjoying the food and the location, but also enjoying seeing the progressive improvements that the owner has made. This is a country bar/restaurant, in a beautiful setting with beautiful views. It has lots of outdoor seating and beautiful landscaping, with goats, rabbits, ponies and ducks for guests... More

They looked after our bags and took care of all our needs service was fast and friendly, Donna also said it would be fine to leave the tent the following day. After a great night... More

I have reported this review to trip advisor as it is so factually untrue. There are two sides to every story & this is not what happened at all. I do not like to lose customers, however on this occasion please do not visit the Beech Tree again. More

We ate with 8 in our group aged 4 to 84 and we all easily found something to eat. (Even the picky Birthday girl) and as for puddings!!!! Yum yum . Big Portions, Fab staff. What more can I add. Proper butchers burgers cooked well, steak (Rare) was perfect, fish and sausages and have you seen the size of the... More

This place has the potential to be really lovely, as you can bring dogs and sit outside and the surroundings are lovely. No idea why I returned here though as this is the 3rd or 4th time I've been and each time the food has been awful. Overpriced and poor quality. No complaints about service but really wouldn't recommend.

I’m sorry that we are not the place for you. Unfortunately everyone’s tastes & ideas are different. A classic example of that, was the other night we served two customers in different rooms the same chilli con carne, which was heated together & served within seconds of each other, one person said it was awful, bland & tasteless & the... We ate with family whilst staying in Scotland. We have eaten here in the past on previous visits, so I was looking forward to this again. The restaurant was empty, although we were there very early in the evening. The staff were lovely, very attentive and friendly, however the food was not as good as previous visits and there seemed... The menu has been reduced a little as we cook to order & like all business when the financial crisis hit we had to look at ways to reduce waste. We kept all the favourite dishes & we increased the quality of food we use, buying much more local. In the restaurant we still have a choice of 9 starters,... More

Perfect lunchtime at the Beech Tree. Wonderful views of Dumgoyne while we relaxed and enjoyed a great lunch. The sundaes are to die for! So much more than just a lunch, though, with entertainment from the miniature ponies racing, the pygmy goats playing " king of the castle" and the ducks flopping into the stream. Well worth a visit. Well... More

Many thanks for this review. When I took over the Beech Tree 10 years ago I wanted to create a place that people could come to...feel relaxed, enjoy time with their friends or family & escape from the "real world" for a while. Glad you enjoyed it. More

Many thanks for taking the time to write this. We do as much as we can for the walkers which are an important part of our trade, so I'm glad we haven't let you down. The West Highland Way is said to be the best walk in Scotland & it is great to see so many people enjoying it. More

Lunched on Friday 3rd April with husband and 3 kids. Kids love the Beech Tree with its choice for kids menu (haddock and chips is lovely) aswell as the animals and playpark outside. I had chicken and haggis which unfortunately had to be returned to be heated as the chicken was cold (not happened before). That aside, we all had... More

Thank you for being so understanding with regards to the cold Chicken & Haggis, it is something that shouldn't have happened & fortunately doesn't happen very often. We use a temperature probe for most of the dishes that we send out, unfortunately this one seems to have slipped through the net. We will never get things right all the time,... More
