Pretty good

We came in with a group of 17 this Sunday afternoon and didn't have any problem getting seated. The service was a little slow but they did get all the orders right. The food was pretty good, I had the grilled chicken with green beans and fried ocra. The chicken had good flavor but it was a... read more

We waited almost 30 minutes on a Wednesday for lunch. It looked like a touring group may have just gotten there. The food and service was good after that. Loved the coconut cream pie for dessert.

I am a little embarrassed with how much enthusiasm our family looks forward to our yearly "brunch" here, but it is breakfast home cooking at East Texas' best. It is a favorite for all ages in our family (2-82). We pick blueberries at Blueberry Hill Farms down the road and then move to The Shed. The biscuits are huge and... More

On a day trip to visit the cute little artist town of Edom, TX, we opted for lunch at The Shed Cafe. We had to wait a while for a table and once seated we had another wait for our service staff to come take our drink orders. After that was another wait to order our food. We waited for... More

We've been regulars of the Shed through many different owners, but lately it has not been as good. Service has been slow even when ordering the "board specials". The last time we came on Chicken n Dumplin day, but it seems that cook was absent. Settled for the stuffed bell peppers, but my wife couldn't eat hers. Today ordered the... More

This cafe is in the TINY town of Edom. If you blink, you've missed it. However, you will find there is always a wait at The Shed. Good, country cooking..... you can't go wrong with anything you order! Breakfast, hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, even steaks that are cooked on a grill outside. Don't forget desserts! Yummy!! If you go during the... More

I have eaten at the Shed many times over the years and something has gone amiss. The service was slow and inattentive. The food was below par and the entire dining experience was a dining disaster. The restaurant must have changed hands and hired new cooks and wait staff. So sad for those of us who used to enjoy every... More

Philly cheesesteak sandwich was our waiters favorite, excellent! Texas toothpicks, slivers of jalapeños deep fried & best buttermilk pie so far on our trip! Ambiance could be brushed up, painted...friendly staff!

If you want real country food, then this should be the place! I ordered the grilled pork chop, and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I also got to try my friend's fried steak and it was amazing!! However, onion rings' batter could have been better, and watch out for the dessert.. They were not as good as they were... More

Eating here for years, I like the chicken fried steak gravy and potatoes with green beans. Cabbage is killer as are the chicken and dumplings. All deserts are great as is the wait staff.
