We are a genuine small town cafe in East Texas. The population of our town is 375. However, our cafe, The Shed Cafe, has been voted the #1 cafe in all of East Texas. We offer and are famous for our chicken fried steak, fried catfish and our Thursday night Steak Night when we serve our certified black angus beef steaks and our famous hamburgers. Pretty good

We came in with a group of 17 this Sunday afternoon and didn't have any problem getting seated. The service was a little slow but they did get all the orders right. The food was pretty good, I had the grilled chicken with green beans and fried ocra. The chicken had good flavor but it was a... read more

There was a time that I would certainly recommended the Shed to anyone. Over the last year or so the Shed has gone down hill. They stopped serving pecan pie, and a couple of others. We use to go to the Shed at least 2 or 3 times a week. It seems like now every time we go they are... More

I've been eating here since the mid-1990s and it is still good. I ordered chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and fried onion rings. The steak was gigantic as were the onion rings. The mashed potatoes were homemade. You could tell. They've cut down on the size of the blackberry cobbler portion was my only complaint. Their water actually... More

I've gone to The Shed for 40 years and have to say I miss the good old days when the entire place had maybe 10 tables, if that. On my last visit the food came out cold, as in a skin on the Mac and cheese cold. I think my veggie plate, the grandkids' corn dogs and grilled cheese, and... More

I have eaten breakfast and lunch here and both were excellent! The biscuits reminded me of the ones my grandmother used to make from scratch. They serve traditional southern food and they do it well. If you want vegetarian or fancy (why would you) then go to another restaurant. Do yourself a favor and give yourself time to explore the... More

This little cafe used to be a great stop visting this part of E.Texas. the service as usual was great. The food was really bad. Everyone around us felt the same and all the locals here who like to trip there for lunch will no longer go under this new management. The waitress felt so bad they comped us and... More

I am not sure what is going on. This review is simply not true. No one was comped yesterday and there was no one in our restaurant who fits this description. More

We waited almost 30 minutes on a Wednesday for lunch. It looked like a touring group may have just gotten there. The food and service was good after that. Loved the coconut cream pie for dessert.

I am a little embarrassed with how much enthusiasm our family looks forward to our yearly "brunch" here, but it is breakfast home cooking at East Texas' best. It is a favorite for all ages in our family (2-82). We pick blueberries at Blueberry Hill Farms down the road and then move to The Shed. The biscuits are huge and... More

On a day trip to visit the cute little artist town of Edom, TX, we opted for lunch at The Shed Cafe. We had to wait a while for a table and once seated we had another wait for our service staff to come take our drink orders. After that was another wait to order our food. We waited for... More

We've been regulars of the Shed through many different owners, but lately it has not been as good. Service has been slow even when ordering the "board specials". The last time we came on Chicken n Dumplin day, but it seems that cook was absent. Settled for the stuffed bell peppers, but my wife couldn't eat hers. Today ordered the... More
