We ate both nights of our stay at the Pilgrim Hotel, and were happy with both meals. You can choose to sit in the traditional dining room, or the modern conservatory, overlooking the hillside. We opted for the conservatory, which was well-heated, and airy. The manager told us on Thursday that they'd had some fresh goat delivered, so that night I... More

NEVER disappointed dining here! Tasty, lovingly prepared and served by a smashing team of people. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Deepak's fabulous Madras curry was a taste sensation as usual, as were the bhaji's, perfect nans and delicate rice, I just love it!! Sticky toffee pudding with the lovliest thick, fresh cream ever and a drizzle of toffee sauce... More

We were driving up the A49 home to Shrewsbury and were amazed to find all the pubs were shut at 3pm on a Saturday. Thankfully the Valley Restaurant in the Pilgrim Hotel was open and very welcoming with a special afternoon menu. Even though they were busy serving afternoon teas they were more than happy to help us out. Many... More

We had a meal here recently and the starter and pudding I can't fault, but the main felt like it was a microwave meal from wetherspoons. The staff were very nice and the venue was good. It could have been because they were very busy that night but it was a disappointing main part of the meal.

Having been here to The Pilgrim a number of times, my wife and I always eat in the valley restaurant. Very good and varied food, excellent produce and good local ales and wine. Always a good meal and atmosphere. Reasonably priced too. We are looking forward to coming back

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and ate at the restaurant twice and 3 breakfasts. The food is really very good and tasty, fresh and a good choice. Had the steak and ale pie one evening, lovely. Fish cakes and salad for starters again great. The second evening was my birthday and I had the cottage pie which was... More

Lovely food, very tasty, nicely presented. The staff were accommodating with my fussy eating and adapted the menu to match which was much appreciated. Helpful staff, good choice on the menu too.

Stopped off at the Valley Restaurant for lunch at around 12:30 whilst on a business trip. Although a little damp and misty outside the views from the restaurant are stunning. We were shown to the bar where we ordered our food and drinks before sitting in the conservatory to have our meals. The food was freshly cooked and we both... More
