The food is always good with a dinner menu that changes seasonally. They have a good breakfast and lunch menu with the best chowder!

Who would have thought that one could find such fine dining in a cosy little wooden shack? The previous restaurant on the site was wonderful and the Zanzibar is equally outstanding. We had previously visited many times for lunch and it had always been fresh, tasty and good value. Dinner last night was outstanding with unique flavours and lovely presentation.... More

Yes, you can eat inside, but we love sitting under the rustic trellis on the wrap-around porch (maybe 35+ seats). Freshly made diverse fare, good Candianos and service makes it worth the drive from Victoria to Brentwood Bay.

I have lived on the Saanich Peninsula for over 20 years. Unfortunately, due to the older demographic and seasonal tourism, restaurants of a high caliber are very hard to find. This restaurant is the exception. I frequent it as much as I can, because the food is first class, and I want it to be there for me next time.... More

I have eaten here before, and enjoyed the food very much. But a restaurant is more than just the food - the service is important as well. This time, as I had in the past, I mentioned to our waitress that I was on lunch and needed my food to arrive in a timely manner. She seemed to understand what... More

This was a recommended place to stop from a shop down the street, and we were sure glad we tried it. The atmosphere is total casual/ rustic, this isn't a fancy place. But don't let the looks fool you, the food and service are exceptional. And the desserts are to die for. After trying lunch, we heard that the weekend... More

I live in Brentwood Bay. My husband & I take turns cooking, sourcing ingredients from our garden & locally.. Still there are times, be it a special occasion or just a whim, we most often head over to Zanzibar to enjoy what Mo has whipped up. The restaurant is housed in a building that was originally a nursery. That explains... More

Rustic but entirely without charm, this little place was highly recommended, but proved to be a big disappointment. The food was mediocre at best: the Asian Stirfry was overcooked, drenched in a bottled chili sauce and virtually without vegetables; in fact it came to the table as a mushy heap. Dreadful! We will not be returning.

Zanzibar is a local favourite of ours. We always have an excellent meal with friendly service. Often the place is packed with repeat customers, especially for Saturday brunch. You can't beat the coffee or Toni's wine recommendations!

Love this place and usually always have a good meal... but the last time I went I got the classic eggs Benedict, the presentation was good but noticed the hash browns were very cold and had one drop of hollandaise sauce on each Benny. I asked the server for more and she came out with cold hollandaise that tasted like... More
