My husband and I came here for lunch with his parents on June 30, 2012. We sat down and ordered coffees. It took 35 mind to get them. And they were cold. Not even a little bit warm. We told the server who was apologetic, and waited longer for a cup of hot coffee. And waited. We reminded the young... More

Too bad this place isn't better because it has a good location and good pleasant service. A few years ago, a friend recommended Seahorse Cafe and we enjoyed it, but sometime over the past five years, it has gone downhill. Recently my husband recommended we stop for lunch after visiting Butchart Gardens. I was hesitant because I had remembered our... More

They offered a mother's day brunch at $19.95 and offered 5 items. 3 of which appeared to be pre-purchased, frozen items, hashbrown patties, scones, and waffles. Even the simplest scrambled eggs were not kept replenished and 3 times I experienced or heard customers having to wait and/or ask for them. Coffee and tea were seldom if ever topped up. Very... More

Food was great, setting was unforgettable. Caught the sunset by chance, which didn't hurt. Our server was very friendly.

We stopped here for lunch before taking the ferry on a cold, damp, thoroughly miserable winter noon. I got the chowder and it was wonderful. Everyone else said their food was great as well. The place was not busy due to the weather and the fact that it was a Sunday. The waitress was a completely charming young woman who... More

On a recent visit, we had the Curried Squash Soup, Baked Brie Bruschetta with Cranberry Relish and Crabkakes, with coffee for about $40 in total including tip. The crabcakes were average, neither good not poor, but for a casual restaurant restaurant, they should have been better. The soup was excellent and the Baked Brie Bruschetta also top notch. The rest... More

Just returned from a lunch at the Seahorse and have to say after all the raves from this site and my inlaws, we were very disappointed. My husband had a burger and I had the soup and salad. My soup had soo much salt in it I couldn't taste anything else and the salad was some brown lettuce tossed in... More

We had lunch outside on the deck. It was a busy time, and didn't have to wait too long for service or our food. My chicken sandwich was good and my wife enjoyed her quesadilla. Nothing too exciting but tasty food and a nice time.

We didn't know there had been a change of ownership and a new chef hailing from Thailand. Probably would not have gone if we had as I am not a huge fan of ethnic food! However, we were pleasantly surprised. My daughter and I loved our choices, my husband didn't get what he had ordered (rice steamed instead of fried)... More

This is my local restaurant - it's a two minute walk from home. I've had excellent service there, and so-so. The difference is the number of customers - they don't have enough staff if the place is full. If it's not full, it's a pretty good restaurant. Nice views, good food, not-bad wine list. If my home didn't have a... More
