Excellent fish and chips and very good service. This is a Cowichan Bay classic. Probably the best place for fish and chips in the Cowichan Valley and not far off the highway.

The Rock Cod Cafe in Cowichan Bay never disappoints. Their specialty fish dishes (best fish and chips around) are always fresh, delicious and well worth the trip to Cow Bay. Casual dining and family friendly. Definitely recommended.

We stopped in on a recommendation from our B&B host, and found it completely as described: good food, friendly staff, great view, and very reasonable prices.

Even on a cold blustery day the Rock Cod cafe is inviting and popular with locals. The french onion soup is perfect for these days and very generous. The fish and chips with "one" piece of cod is huge, fresh and satisfies just about everyone. They feature many local beers and ciders, and a few wines. The menu has something... More

I have been going to the Rock Cod Café in Cowichan Bay for at least 15 years, if not longer. We visit every time we are on Vancouver Island. We keep going back for the fish and chips, both the halibut and the cod. They are the best fish and chips in the world, in my opinion. I keep thinking... More

Went to the Rock Cod Cafe for my 48th and my aunt's 85th birthdays for a dinner celebration with 6 other guests. I had the Asian Halibut Bowl which I highly recommend especially if you like spicy food, however, I was disappointed with the chairs in which we had to sit on. They were rock hard :( Wooden chairs with... More

great place to eat if you like ocean side dining. food is good, large servings. Parking is a problem in the summer and on weekends as it is a narrow strip along the ocean,

It has to be the tourists that keep this place busy because it usually is quite full. The food is average at best. The fish and chips are their signature dish and truly are mediocre. There's far better ones to be had (eg Salty's in Duncan). 0+ People wait in line to get in here and then.... I dunno what...... More

Didn't expect to find such a great restaurant in Cowichan. Fish and chips come with choice of three or four fish, breaded & fried or grilled. Choices for batter, too. We opted for an order of fish and chips with Cod and coconut batter (subtle coconut flavor and huge piece of fish), an order of fish tacos (rock cod, grilled)... More

Everyone likes to stop at Rock Cod Cafe when they go to Cowichan Bay, BC. We have never been disappointed when we go to this Cafe for a meal. The fish is done to perfection and the menu has many options to chose from. Hope to see you there soon.
