Had lunch there, started with their clam chowder, Yum, it was excellent, then had their rock cod salad with shrimp added. It was also excellent and the shrimp were fresh.

The wife and I went to this restaurant for the simple reason that it was next in the row of restaurants on main street that we wanted to sample. Fish and other seafood is on this menu for your eating pleasure. I ordered the 2 piece battered cod and the wife ordered fanny bay oysters with a side ceasar salad.... More

Hello and many thanks for your detailed review! I am so glad you and your wife enjoyed our food. I hear you on the cod meal, it is a big enough dish for a few people for sure. ;-) To address your suggestions for improvement, I will look into the onion ring order size and the over-zealous fish batter. Thanks... More

We have been going to the Rock Cod since moving into the area (12 years). Have seen some peaks & valleys in the quality of the food over that time, had a high spot last month but when we took visitors there last week, it was not a great experience. We were there around 1pm, so it was not terribly... More

I had the Butter Curry Prawns with Pilaf Rice and Naan bread...big portion for a great price. It was delicious, lots of flavour and lots of prawns! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Only thing I would change is the decor..it would be nice to see a bit more seaside charm coming through in the interior.

After attending an event in Nanaimo and returning home to the Victoria area, my friend and I stopped into this restaurant for dinner. When my friend inquired about 'Gluten-Free' options for myself, I was happy when I was given a separate Celiac Friendly Menu. Having food sensitivities can take the fun of dining out, but the extensive menu, with many... More

Came here after a negative experience nearby. Not the best view in the world for sure, since all we could see was the parking lot but the food and the service were both good. The seafood tasted fresh, with a nice light batter and the sides were good. I liked being able to get half of two different sides with... More

Was disappointed with the seafood chowder I ordered. Although it had good flavour, there was a very skimpy amount of seafood. This cafe is not consistent. Sometimes it has very good food and at other times, it is very disappointing. After this last visit, I will probably not return. The service was also slow. There are better choices in Cowichan... If you're looking for a great BC fish and Chips experience this is the place and worth the drive up from Victoria if you aren't passing through. The Cowichan Valley is so beautiful with vineyards and shops and restaurants. Golf Courses too.

The food is amazing, their portions are huge for the price you pay. It's so affordable and well worth the money. Huge portions of fish and chips that are very well done. Nice little sea side restaurant for families.
