We met to celebrate a number of things, and had been planning the outing for six months. Calendars coincided and so we enjoyed calamari, fish and chips, shrimp penne and more. The hostess who greeted us at the door was wanting to put us in her section but we had reserved another table. Alas! Three of us knew the other... More

Rock Cod was our go to place when visiting family in the Cobble Hill area. I wouls say that we ate there 12 times in the last year. The both the food and the service have always been great until the ladt two visits. In July the waiter had obviously never waited before and after the horrendous service that day... More

We had been before on our annual trip to the coast and were really looking forward to returning to the Rock Cod Cafe...both of our kids were super excited to be going as well. Our original experience was that the pieces of fish were so BIG that you had a hard time finding the fries and coleslaw on the plate!!... More

The oysters were terrible mushy and not edible! Ordered fish & chips, but disappointed. Fish too much batter and very little fish! Cheese cake must have been days old. Only positive was the vanilla ice cream. Service was good, but upon complaining about the food no compensation was offered. Kitchen needs a chef who knows how to prepare seafood! This... More

we ordered the Captains plate at $21 and the mates plate at $15. The Captains plate had a few more goodies such as scallops etc and halibut instead of cod. We shared the extras. The seafood was delicious and the fries were good too. All hot and fresh tasting. Coleslaw, so/so. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive even though it... More

Great family restaurant, fresh seafood, 3 page gluten free menu. As a celiac this is my favourite restaurant as they have a complete Gluten free menu. I have eaten there often this summer and loved it each time.

All we wanted was a cold wobbly pop and a bathroom break. Was met at the door by a typical Cowichan Bay positive and happy energy person and asked where we would like to sit. She said, Oh you have to sit with a view. We were escorted to our table. (I am amiss for not acquiring her name). We... More

We visit Rock Cod Cafe every year when we come for vacation. It is the best fish I have ever had. I get the cod. My husband and his parents usually get the Halibut and the fries are delicious! Very generous servings as well.Stop by on your way through the beautiful Cowichan bay!

First, Cowichan Bay Village. It's a strip about one km long and 50 metres wide (15 of which is road) between a steep slope and the bay after which it is named. There are 100 businesses and ten houses strung out. Parking is tight, especially in summer. Now the Rock Cod. It has several advantages. It has more parking than... More
