Expensive but very tasty

They were experiencing problems when we were there with their debit system and could only accept cash. When you phone to make a reservation you are guaranteed a table but not a specific table/area. We wanted to sit outside and after a short wait were moved to the deck. Our meals were... read more

The most unappetising meal I've had. The place looked inviting and the menu looked fine but it arrived within minutes of ordering so was pretty obvious it wasn't cooked fresh. It looked and tasted like leftovers from the day before that had been microwaved up. It wasn't even hot. So if you're looking for lukewarm indigestion then this is the... More

Okay, I know this is Waterton, and I know the food is going to be overpriced, which I don't mind, providing I get a good meal. We attended this restaurant in late May, and I ordered the Bison meatloaf, and my wife ordered the fish and chips. The meatloaf was dry, as expected (bison meat is dry), but it was... More

Waterton has quite a few restaurants within a small area and we chose Trappers for our first night's dinner for no good reason apart from the fact it looks nice from the outside and the menu was varied. To be fair, the menus at the other restaurants were equally varied and similarly priced (over-priced as a matter of fact but... More

This is a fabulous family run operation! After the disaster at Fireside, and the so-so meal at Vimy's, we tried Trapper's for breakfast on the Saturday morning. We didn't eat anywhere else for the rest of the weekend! We were seated and a lady who must have been the order cam around and asked us if we had been served.... More

They were experiencing problems when we were there with their debit system and could only accept cash. When you phone to make a reservation you are guaranteed a table but not a specific table/area. We wanted to sit outside and after a short wait were moved to the deck. Our meals were well-presented and delicious.

We spent two nights in Waterton. The previous evening we picked up pizza and took it to our room for dinner. We decided to eat at a restaurant the second night. This was recommended by the captain of the boat cruise we took on Waterton Lake. We were very disappointed. The food was very expensive in our opinion for what... More

Dinner on Sept 27/14. Atmosphere was pleasant, server took our order indicating that we all had made good choices. Our party ordered the Crab salad with Artichoke, Bison chili and Bison meatloaf. The server came back to say that there was no Artichoke left and did we still want the Crab. We asked for a beet salad to be substituted... More

Such a cozy place to dine in Waterton! Went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. BF ordered the french toast and is glad he added a side of eggs and bacon. The french toast was very flavorful, but was on standard white, bread and he said it was definitely not enough food. French toast with 2 eggs and 2... More

Located in the middle of Waterton; it is an easy stroll from any of Waterton's lodging choices except the Prince of Wales Hotel. Very welcoming and courteous service throughout the meal. Choice of Bison Burger & Fish 'n Chips hit the spot; both served w/ a small dish of their baked beans and cole slaw. This was a dinner choice... More
