We had dinner at Trapper's and were fortunate enough to get an outdoor patio table. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was outstanding (quick and friendly) but the food was average at best. Not a bad choice if you can get outside seating but there may be better places in Waterton to spend your dining dollars.

While my guess is that none of the restaurants in Waterton lakes are serving "haute cuisine," Trapper's is probably as good as it gets. My assessment is that while nothing on the menu is spectacular, if you stay with the basics like burgers and sandwiches, you'll be okay. Since we were going to have steaks for dinner, I chose chicken... More

We had never been to this restaurant before, but we liked the look of the menu at the door and the decorate was rustic and welcoming. Our server lacked any interest in her job or serving us. The food was basic and not anything impressive for the price. We all had upset stomachs for the rest of the day. Not... More

We had lunch at Trappers. We go there every time we are in Waterton. The atmosphere is great. My husband had the Montreal smoked beef sandwich and loved it. Portions are very generous. We were there with couple from Ontario and their lunch was very good as well. The only down side was the waitress was new so service was... More

Trappers restaurant in Waterton offers a backwoods small town feel with friendly service and great ambience. The food was beyond excellent and quick to the table. We really enjoyed our time in the restaurant and the gift shop adjacent to it has a great variety of souvenirs. All together a great experience and can't wait to return.

I was unimpressed with the food at this place. We decided to eat here after wandering around town and finding that there was at least a half hour wait everywhere, and this was the place that could seat us the fastest. The woman at the front desk was a bit brusque, and when asked where she would recommend eating if... More

I give this a mixed review on the food. The small cheese pizza one person order was almost impossible to eat as the pizza was hard and stringy. Not sure if it was frozen then microwaved or what. Another person had a burger which was OK. Sitting outside was very nice.

We ate breakfast here 3 days and loved it. A little pricey but the food was good. I got hooked on Saskatoon berries here - definitely get them on your pancakes or waffles. One day after a hike, we decided to stop for a beer - it was served in a nice cold icy mug and definitely hit the spot.... More

When we arrived we asked if there was any patio seating available. There was not. We asked what the approximate wait time was, with the hostess rudely saying "How am I supposed to know how long it will take people to eat?" It turns out they don't even seat 6 on the patio, which would have been fine if the... More

Large menu. I had the yummy barbequed brisket, slaw and baked Idaho. Lovely outside table for people-watching. Friendly service.
