Fresh homemade food. French toast was delicious & omelettes cooked to perfection. Easy laid back & friendly staff. Even their jam was homemade!

Stayed two days in Port Hardy...found this cafe and had a good meal here. Small town, lots of locals eat here...nice and warm, friendly, good enough food.

This place used to be great, the food and the fresh baked goods, as well as the place itself, but it has like much of Port Hardy gone down hill ! Not as friendly, food not as good, and to me the food no longer justifies the cost. Went there at 2:50 PM today and it was closed when I... More

Before all the staff turnover, this was a solid business with friendly staff and a welcome atmosphere. The past two times I have been in the serving staff have been rude. While the food is good there is NO reason someone should wait 45 minutes for an egg & English muffin. There is no reason to have to wait 50... More

Overall, when you walk in the cafe feels welcoming. It's sort of cafeteria style, ordering at the front. Glenna, the owner, bakes all her stuff there and you can see the display case. She doesn't bake the Cornish Pasties, but they're awesome nonetheless. Amazing sandwiches, with a lot of bread choices and I noticed the Esso in town sells wrapped... More

While the decor is a little haphazard and dated, the food is consistently excellent and very well priced. Try the thai salad with mandarin slices and almond for a healthy option, and all the sandwiches and baked goods are absolutely delish!

If you want a throwback to the '70's or a college town ambience, go to the Market Street Cafe for breakfast. Not your normal bacon-and-eggs small town cafe. Interesting and good breakfasts, and you can sit outside if it's warm or inside in a cozy nook if it is raining. Looks like a place that you could just go in... More

Stopped here for the first time while holidaying in the northern part of Vancouver Island. My wife had a clubhouse and I tried their Denver sandwich and seafood chowder. Both the Denver and the chowder were slightly above average and the portions were generous. The clubhouse was average. For dessert we shared their fresh baked cinnamon bun and it was... More
