Super food, great hosts

Stopped for a meal whilst on a weekend break . What a great choice, food was great and good value, good range of drinks and the landlord and staff were really friendly, taking an interest in us rather than just serving us. We detoured to Wetton hungry and thirsty from walking the Manifold Way and chanced upon this delightful establishment. The Landlord made us feel most welcome and we were relieved to find that food is served all day ! Having enjoyed a delicious lunch we booked again for an evening meal as we were staying close by. Nothing was too much... More

Decided on this pub as it was conveniently placed on our circular walk from Ilam. Arrived at 12 on a Sunday with a good appetite, but it was rapidly satisfied with excellent food and fantastic service. All helped down with some great local real ale. Landlady and Landlord very welcoming and friendly. The place was packed by the time we... More

A cosy inn, with a good fire, very welcome after a cold walk. Dogs are welcome and so were we! Good food, reasonably priced, spoiled rather by loud music more suitable for younger visitors. We changed our seats to be further away from the speakers, but conversation was a bit difficult.

It was a cold Friday afternoon, the fire was roaring and we were made to feel very welcome. We didn't eat this time but will definitely go back to try the food. Have told all our friends to pay a visit!

I've visited here a few times. The landlord and staff are friendly with a warm welcome. Traditional country pub with a real fire. We had Sunday lunch here 25/01/2015. Luckily I had the last one about 4pm but they serve food till evening. It was a fab roast beef dinner. Gorgeous thick gravy. Good prices and would defiantly visit again.
