So, we stopped and looked upstairs, which was a pizza restaurant, and downstairs, which was a pub. We were told we could get the same food at either. But when we tried to order food, the pub waitress acted like it was a big inconvenience, because upstairs was "a separate business". We ordered a medium pizza and salad. Ten minutes... More

Just saw your review dated August 11. While we currently do own and manage Howlers Pub, OV Pizza is the operating business in our 2nd floor premises, previously know as Howlers Bistro, in 2012. The premises are indeed leased out to a "different' operating business. Indeed you are able to get the same food ordered down from OV Pizza to... More

Hi, I just saw your review for Howlers Bistro, however, I need to update our Trip Advisor, as the restaurant in our building above Howlers Pub, is not currently not being operated by Howlers Bistro, it is currently being operated by a different person , under "Stick a Fork in it". They have done recent renovations to change it from... More

Not that impressed. Won't go back anytime soon. Long waits for average food that is way overpriced. Staff is not as professional as they should be. Only great thing is the view off the patio.

We had a decent meal in the upstairs bistro, and downstairs another day in the pub. The service was definitely friendly.

Loved the fish and chips, especially the extra spices put into the batter for the halibut. Gravy for the fries was thick and rich as if i had made it myself. The only downside was the service. We were on a limited time for a business lunch, arriving just after 12 Noon to a half full restaurant, and our food... More

Dined in the bistro at Howlers after a day at SKaang Gwaii, flying both ways in a Beaver. The patio overlooks Skidegate Inlet and the food was wonderful. I had the corn and seafood chowder along with halibut & chips. The chowder was great - chock full of seafood and veggies. Halibut and chips was real - excellent halibut and... More

I was recently in Haida Gwaii and enjoyed dinner in Howlers Bistro. The special was fresh salmon, and it was excellent. The table overlooking the town and harbor is great and the dessert selection was good. I had the cheesecake and it was some of the best I'd had. I also expected pub food, having enjoyed a game of pool... More

We had weathered the Masset food situation (dicey) and had limited expectations. I ordered a "steak sandwich" which was a 6 oz rib steak on a piece of bread (only Attila the Hun would have picked it up). It came with greek salad and I was happy. My husband chowed down on a huge home made burger and fries with... More

Pasta, burgers, cheesecakes, a pretty good selection of items for a small town restaurant. The two factors that really make it worth considering are: (1) its south-facing deck is amazing on the rare, sunny days; (2) although there are better places in Queen Charlotte for lunch (Purple Onion, Queen Bee), this is the best choice available for dinner.
