We were very much looking forward to eating here after reading the reviews and checking out the menu. Very disappointed to find a sign on the door announcing the business was closed and up for lease.

The bison burger was a favorite, as well as the great beers on tap, the friendly service and the fun decor.

Its a tough job on the gulf islands to maintain a regular job let alone a restaurant! The Wild Fennel continues to improve and be creative in their menu. I like the friendly atmosphere and will continue to enjoy their fine dining creations!

Very original menu with lots of organic/eco-friendly options. Food is not great but definitely good. Certainly worth a visit. Service was a bit questionable, we were never offered refills on our drinks.

I would recommend eating here for lunch over dinner due to the simpleness of the lunch. The last few times I have eaten here for dinner I have unfortunately found the food to be much too rich and slightly salty. I have enjoyed the food, but just found it to be too much. What I do love, however, is the... More

I have eaten here a few times now and they never disappoint. Menu makes for a tough decision. For lunch it's the bison burger.

The Wild Fennel is located in the centre of Mayne Island, in a wee development of a few shops. The restaurant has some pretty wild/quirky/interesting/cool/odd original art on the walls, created by one of the co-owners. The artist served us, and he certainly didn't lack for personality! Lots of fun. Other than the art, the space doesn't have a ton... More

Having the owners serve you makes you feel like you're a friend over for a meal. Plus, the spot is decorated with original art done by the owners. The dishes use local ingredients, have lots of flavour, and you get a generous amount for your coin. They have an outside patio (if you can stand the hornets that plague the... More

While staying on Mayne Island for a friend's wedding, we've had lunch and dinner at Wild Fennel. The service from the owners is lively, fun and very accommodating. The food is creative, tasty and reasonably priced. It is a small place and can get busy, especially at around 6:30 pm. They will take reservations for larger tables only. if you're... More
