Mediocre & dissapointing

I was a little disappointed with my experience at Waring House. My husband and I had dinner there on our one year anniversary and were excited knowing that there would be a pianist performing for the jazz festival. We went there very dressed up, only to feel overdressed. People came in wearing... read more

The food was to die for in the Pub!! Their soups are made fresh every day. Could have eating soup the whole time we were there lol! We did not go to eat in the dinning room - that was not for us so I can't really say anything about it other than the ambiance. It was true to age... More

OVERRATED! Considering the fact that they have a cooking school, our family was very very disappointed with their food at the Amelia restaurant. Service was very slow as well, it took a long wait for our entrees to come, and the amount you dish out for their dishes wasn't at all worth the value. Breakfast was only average. Selections were... Came here for lunch. Try their apple cheddar soup, totally worth it! Their fresh desserts were great too!

We went to Amelia's Garden. The service was TERRIBLE. It was slow (1.5 hours to get the main). The appetizer brought to me was not what I had ordered. The main that my friend received was not what she ordered. After all the waiting, the meal was ordinary tasting. Not what we expected

We're very sorry to hear that your service fell so far below the standard we set for ourselves. While I'm not sure of the particulars that led to this breakdown, we are investigating what went wrong. You should never have been made to wait that long for your meal. We sincerely apologize. More

We arrived by bus with 24 good friends from Probus... After a rather long drive from Pickering and a stop at a winery, we had booked our lunch here... Dinner more like, as portions were very generous. Starting with a delightful room overlooking the gardens and comfortable chairs with all amenities laid on. Real flowers on the tables. Iced water,... We were a large group and all of us had a good time at Waring House's Barley Room. Ambience was just right (elegant but not too posh), food selection broad, and most of us were satisfied with what we ordered. Service was almost perfect -- only "almost" because I got charged the alcoholic version's price for our non-alcoholic drinks --... More

Not afraid to invent new menu items, the attached culinary school often excels in tempting your taste buds. Part of a greater entity, the restaurant and pub compliment the hotel/inn nicely. Ancient setting and beautifully appointed facilities and grounds illustrate days of yesteryear. Great Sunday buffets too!

We looked at the Waring House on line and believed it would be an excellent end to a mini getaway. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Upon our arrival we were met by a man with an armful of toilet paper who nodded at us to head down the hall to get seated. We walked into a few rooms and waited... More

We're very sorry to hear that your experience in Amelia's Garden wasn't to your liking. We always strive to exceed our customers' expectations when they dine with us, but it seems that on that evening, we fell short. Please accept our apologies. More
