Only OK

While staying at The Queen's Inn in Picton, we went here for breakfast. There wasn't anything wrong with the food, but there wasn't anything really good about it either. I thought the prices were about $3.00 higher than other similar places I've eaten. My eggs were good and portions fine, but we... read more

We were visiting the area as tourist and decided to go to Gus's for lunch. The decor looked little kitschy and outdated, but we like Greek food, so took a chance. We had bean soup, souvlaki, veggie pita and rice pudding. It was done very tasty and without much waiting. The price was great . Apparently they have a meal... More

We love small family owned diners and prefer them over fancier places, especially for bfast. Having said that, there was nothing special here eventhough we had high hopes seeing all the family pictures on the wall etc. Ordered ham and eggs and hash browns-they were all ok. Service however was not great-in fact somewhat rude given we asked for mil... More

Had the turkey open face and the double chicken. Both were excellent. There was a little mixup in the order due to a shift change but recovered from it. Food was hot, fresh and abundant.

Chicken on salad was undercooked and was bland. Salad portion was large but with iceberg lettuce served on a small bowl/plate so it was difficult to eat. Anything deep fried was good though. Service was ok, price was a bit high for what we had.

I think that the prices are extremely high for the amount of food that you get. There hours are not very extensive and we have made arrangements to meet there a few times, to find out that it is not open. I think it may even be closed for a while in the winter as the doors were locked the... More

this place is a dump from the washrooms on a different floor to the trashy staff and local people that in itself was bad enough but the real bad part was the 2 inch shard of glass we found mixed in our potato the kitchen is nasty from what you can see through the window and as you walk in... More

Reading recent reviews following customers visits to Gus' Family Restaurant, I am fairly disgusted by things some people have to say about one or two less than perfect visits they have encountered. I have never had a bad meal, nor have I ever had a GOOD meal at Gus' . They have all been FANTASTIC meals. Most of them prepared... More

All my life I have favoured the Mediterranean diet, Greek salads and Souvlaki, rice. Kalamata olives .....I feel like jumping in the car and going to Gus's for my favorite meal just talking about it. We are very lucky and blessed to have a good restaurant like this. An affordable family restaurant.
