It was a slightly wet day and the restaurant was one of a few open for lunch at this time of the year. The service was very friendly and the food good. The seafood chowder was particularly good.

I like restaurants that are adventurous with their food. Unfortunately, restaurants in tourist towns tend to play it safe. Matterson House is an exception. We had a delicious chicken dish that was breaded with crushed almonds and topped with a raspberry sauce. Would happily go back.
Wonderful staff/owners and the food was wonderful! Good value for the money and a great atmosphere! Nice to see a long time restaurant in the same place doing well with owners who still care!!!
Huge meals for the money and very tasty. Homemade bread made for awesome toast. It is a small restaurant but they do have outside seating available if the weather is nice.
Cosy little restaurant with nicely done, simple dishes. The strawberry cheesecake (home made) is excellent. Price/quality ratio is good.
This is our favorite restaurant in ucluelet the chowder is so good along with everything else on the menu ,and the portions are huge the owners Jenn and Sandy are so friendly it's such a cute restaurant it's like going to someone's house for a meal ,and try one of Sandys desserts mmmm
I have been visiting this small home restaurant for the past 9 years, usually either for lunch of breakfast and have never had a bad meal. the portions are tasty, large and the service is very good. This is a guaranteed good meal for a very fair price/
With absolutely delicious food - and lots of it. We were lucky to be able to squeeze into the restaurant before all of their reservations which would have filled the restaurant in an hour or so. We had the mushroom caps, bacon scallops and veal. So good. Great service and always so much fun. Looking forward to our next visit.
We showed up on Mother's Day at 11:50 with no reservation. We were lucky to get a seat. This is such a cute and quaint little house right on the main drag. We really enjoyed the friendly, family feeling. Food was exellent. Big portions. Homemade and great value.
