The hosts were lovely people and the restaurant had lots of local history too. It was winter so this was one of the few restaurants opened. Both of us order seafood bowl, it came with freshly baked whole potato, broccoli, and a big bowl of seafood cooked in the tomato broth. Lots of scallop, shrimp, prawn and big chunks of... More

We never visit Ucluelet from our home in Coquitlam without at least one visit to this gem of a restaurant. Not a fancy place by any means - just a throw-back to the days when a homey atmosphere, friendly low-key service and perfectly-cooked home-style food were things to value. The menu offers plenty of variety, and there's a great wine... More

Stayed in Ukee over New Years and stopped in for breakfast as it is a must. Yes the restaurant is a bit of a time warp but we have been in for breakfast every time we have stated in Ukee and we have never been disappointed. One of the best breakfast places

Passing by this nice looking house and looking for an open restaurant on Jan 1st 2015, we thought that we could come inside and have a little something to eat. We did no mistake! Food was delicious and perfect for a cold day

We we're looking forward to having a nice lunch here as it was listed as vegan/vegetarian friendly on other sites. Unfortunately, this was NOT our experience. After rudely being told by the waitress that we could only sit at a 2 person table when the restaurant was basically empty, we decided to shrug it off, sit down and order. We... More

Matterson House is a quaint, historical setting. Warm place on a cold winter visit. The staff there were friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent on both visits. The French Onion soup was one of the best I have had. Servings were large and well presented. We indulged in Ankor Chicken, various pastas and prime rib. All excellent.

We stayed on Vancouver Island for about 4 days and this was the best restaurant we went to on the island. It could be a little hard to find with GPS (somehow ours didn't recognize the address), but do not give up. We went there for a brunch and everything we ordered (cod burger, Caesar salad, halibut quesadillas, chocolate mousse,... More
