A New Age Pub

No crystal hokum, just a modern version of great pub food, excellent choice of ales and prompt service in case you have to catch the ferry to Nanaimo.

This was our second visit to Oliver and Anchor in Horseshoe Bay. The first time the restaurant was great but in one year this restaurant has gone down hill. My first clue should have been that the restaurant was not that busy. My husband and I each ordered a pasta dish, I ordered Seafood Linguine and he ordered Carbonara. When... More

The restaurant/pub is actually very large and bright. The staff were friendly and earner to be of assistance. Parker the guide dog was quite comfortable under the table and there was still lots of leg room for us. We ordered the Prawn Thai cakes and they were crunchy on the outside and bursting with flavour on the inside. Hubby ordered... More

Visited Sunday afternoon and was charmed by the exterior which had a vintage look of a 20th century seaside resort restaurant. It was matched by the interior of black pillars, naked floor boards, ceiling fans and simple tables and chairs. The menu features simple fare, leaning heavily towards seafood and some of it quite imaginative. The place was jammed and... More

My family and I ate at this restaurant. We had 6 adults, a toddler and an infant. The service was very good. Our waiter was very friendly and prompt. Our food was absolutely delicious and arrived at the same time so nobody was left watching the others eat. Our grandson loved his pasta dish and we were very impressed that... More

We were on the way back from Whistler to Vancouver and just stop by this little bay and found this amazing restaurant! The Korean manager was very funny and we chatted a lot! With some Korea relation in the restaurant, they have little twist of the Korean taste! My favourite is definitely the Korean BBQ wings and mussells! Also don't... More

Our family enjoyed our visit to the busy little Olive & Anchor. We were among several other young families with couples and others sprinkled in at our 5pm supper stop. The dining room was very tastefully decorated, and the atmosphere was charmingly busy. There was even a little box of toys in the corner for kids who needed to fidget.... More

If this is the #1 restaurant in West Vancouver then I don't want to eat anywhere else. We went here for lunch while waiting for the ferry. We got a table right away which was nice because other restaurants down the street had large lines outside. The service was ok but the waiter had to reminded a couple of times... More

We have eaten at this restaurant twice in the past and the food, service and cleanliness was good. On this occasion, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were rushed to a table that was not ready, and we were given menus with burn holes in them (the waitress explained that the candles on the table burns holes in the... We live on Bowen Island.. .a 20 minute ferry ride to Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. Often friend from the mainland will meet us at the Olive & Anchor and we have never been disappointed. They have the best Chicken Pot Pie you've ever had. Today I tried their form of a hot dog.... shaved sirloin of beef in a... More
