German home cooking in Cloverdale

Charmingly decorated old world sanctuary of a restaurant that defies the rather industrial urban surroundings of the neighborhood on busy Highway 10 just east of even-busier 176th St. They serve delicious German classics--Schnitzels, Goulash soup, rouladen, and more--very, very well, with... read more

Went to this restaurant on a Sunday night with another couple. It was not busy but had a few other tables other than us. We went there expecting a fine dining experience; not so. The service was friendly and efficient enough and the setting was nice, however, the food left much to be desired. If you were going to a... More

stopped in with a friend on a wet and cold Friday night.. and using a two for one coupon .. were asked if we had a reservation..we did not...the room was booked but the accommodating staff found us a small table as most of the reservations were for Christmas staff parties...we both decided to try the schnitzel with mushrooms and... If you're expecting an authentic German restaurant do not come here. It's just greasy schnitzel and perhaps poor quality vegetables from pesticide - laden farms. Or maybe it's not...who knows. Service was ok. Restaurant needs to wake up from 1985 and enter 2015.

We went here as a family of four for a birthday celebration. We had a reservation, however when we arrived (on time), there was no table available for us, and we were advised we would have to wait "a few minutes". About ten minutes later, we asked if we could be seated at an open table for six that was... More

Been many years and visits to Elisabeth's Chalet Restaurant. I like the way the staff makes one feel right at home just the way it has been since my first time there. The kitchen has never failed providing a top notch meal for me and my sweetie. The restaurant does get busy with family celebrations but the wait staff work... More

Celebrated 2 family members birthdays here last night....there were 9 of us & we were shocked at how full this place was for a Wednesday night. That tells you that its a really good place to go for excellent German food. We had schnitzels,3 of us,1 steak, salads, goulash soup, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp & also a salmon dinner. The grandaughter had chicken fingers. The surprise here was... More

Had a late lunch here. Soup was hearty and sandwich was ok. Dessert cart looked interesting, tried a creme brûlée. Was pretty good. Very dated decor. Understand this restaurant has been around for many years and probably has a local following in the area.

We chose this restaurant for my mom's 80th birthday celebration. To be honest I hadn't been to this restaurant in probably 20 years, but my mom chose it because she loves 'Schnitzel'. There were around 22 of us, including 1 infant and 1 toddler, we were seated in a back room which was fantastic and private for us. Unfortunately they... More

A group of us met here for lunch. Some of our party was a little late. The waitress was wonderful. She kept filling our water and asking when we would like to order or if we wanted to wait until the others showed up. The waitress was great at telling and explaining the specials to us. She also answered our... More
