We were a sizable walking group who stopped for drinks, some of our group were purchasing food from the pub also, the landlord was rude & unfriendly he clearly does not want walking groups to call in here to eat or drink. We will not be calling again & have also deleted this location from our list of places for... More

There wer 6 adults and a eighteen month old in our party. The staff were lovely. Very attentive. We asked if we could be moved to a bigger table and were initially told that there wasn't one available. But 10 mins later one did come available and the staff came over and asked us if we would like it. The... More

What a lovely place! Friendly staff and awesome food! We stopped by at the ship inn randomly after a long drive, and it was such a lovely old house and area. The owner talked with us and there was much laughter and huge portions of good food (loved the hummus and tapas)! Worth a visit!!

We were a group of walkers stopping over in their garden, bringing in 20 people's worth of beer buying. The prices were high for the area and we were rudely told not to each our lunch in their garden. I suspect they are generally ok, but they were NOT friendly to walkers. Wincle Brewery, only a couple hundred yards down... More

Have had many lovely meals at this pub and enjoyed it greatly.I have never been disturbed by the Tv which to my memory is only small and out of the way at the far end of the pub. The beer is superb Looking forward to my next visit!

Its website describes it as "a quintessential unspoilt country pub". Well it used to be - but it is now dominated by a huge TV set which drowns out all attempts at conversation. Won't be returning until this is removed!

This is the third time after a strenuous walk we have eaten at the Ship. The first two times, inspite of the huge portions the food was excellent. Today four of us shared the seafood platter that was more than adequate for a starter. The roast lamb and belly pork were excellent, however the liver was not up to its... More

We had a variety of meals on a Sunday lunchtime and all was expertly executed and delicious! The service was very relaxed, just what we needed and the staff so friendly. This is a retrospective review and I can't remember exactly what beer I had but remember that it was also delicious!

This weekend was my second experience at The Ship Inn, and I am compelled to write a raving review based on two wonderful meals had here. The pub itself is nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Wincle, a perfect country village with typical scenary, walks and wildlife all accesible on foot from the pub. The landlord is helpful in advising... More

I had been to the ship of old and had some great meals and some really bad ones so I've stayed away. After a trip out my fiancé and I decided to give it a whirl. We ordered two beef roast dinners, we have really struggled to find a place locally that serves a good one! Well the beef was... More
