It was my first visit to The Ship Inn and I so enjoyed the drive there through stunning scenery on a beautiful sunny day. When we arrived at the Inn the outside looked most appealing with colourful hanging baskets and flowerin tubs. I was delighted on entering to find that the interior had not been over modernised and there was... More

Thank you Isabel for your comments on the exterior and the food at the Ship, we work hard to keep the pub looking beautiful and as a traditional English country Inn. The salad section has proved very popular and I am pleased that you enjoyed it. It seems though that you may have made an error in your rating as... More

This pub is a perfect stop off after a long bike ride. If you are a rambler perfect location to the near by hills. The food was perfect pub food. Feels very much like a true English pub, highly recommended.

Fantastic place to stop for mid afternoon lunch after a long trek over the Roaches. We sat outside in a lovely little beer garden, and enjoyed a large sunday roast dinner plus pudding, then unfortunately had to walk back again... Really great food, the ham and eggs was also excellent, as was the apple crumble.

We stopped in after a walk in the hills for lunch. Our welcome was warm and friendly, the menu was varied, and the food absolutely delicious! Service was really fast too, but food was clearly freshly cooked to order. Wherever possible the food was locally sourced, with suppliers listed on the menu. Highly recommended - we'll certainly be going back... More

Stppped here after nice walk and had beautiful pastrami, gherkin and rocket panini with lovely chips and salad. Friendly service and were told that they cure their own pastrami which takes a week and you can tell the difference from dried shop bought. Nice to sit in the garden in the sunshine. It had been a while since we had... More

En route in our long circular walk, we stopped here for a latish lunch. We both had a sandwich, which came with the usual sides plus the most amazing chips we've had in a long time. Accompanied by good friendly service and nobody complained about the state of our boots! Fuelled us up for the rest of our walk. Would... More
