Spectacular view, good food!

One usually doesn't expect a meal served at the top of a gondola or ski lift to be much more than thin, previously frozen hamburger patties and a tired lettuce salad. Summit House is a wonderful exception! Every one of the menu items looked appetizing as they passed by to other tables. I had the... read more

Cute mountain lodge with great food and epic views. The waiter was very nice and satisfied my little one's request for plain noodles, no butter with sauce on the side. Fish tacos and salmon pasta were both excellent.

The food was good. Dont get the fries with curry though...it leaves a nasty aftertaste. But they were wonderful and the food was awesome and the wait staff was marvelous and the hot spiced wine was amazing especially cuz it was freezing outside.

I know the view here is splendid, as I have skied up there, but both times we took guests up you could not see any mountains or views from the top. Great gondola ride. The clam chowder is out of this world and the drinks were great, but the fish tacos were spicy hot and not good at all. They... More

Food was overpriced, and average at best, but the views of the mountains can't be beaten. It does require a trip up in the Gondola to get there.

It's all about the view. Located at the top of the gondola, they have a nice deck overlooking Mt. Rainier. Pretty decent offering of food and beverage...a little pricey but they have to get everything to the top. The service was very good.

Reaching this restaurant is half of the fun. The Gondola ride to the Summit House restaurant is worth every penny. We were not "in season" so no reservations were required, however we understand that is not the case, In Season! Would strongly reservations in season as the restaurant is on the smaller side and no one is in a hurry... More

Visited Summit House Restaurant on a Saturday around 1PM in early June. The gondola ride was a thrill for 2 young grandchildren but not so much for their father who we discovered doesn't care for heights. 7 of us got a table inside the Summit House which was a good thing since the temp had dropped substantially from the start... We've been coming here with our dogs for years. It's the only lift ride that I'm aware of that they're allowed. You can bring them onto the outside terrace for lunch or dinner with you. This is the highest view that you'll ever get of Mt Rainier from your dining room chair and if you time the season's sunset withe... More

Food was pricey and nothing special. But everything tastes better with a view. Nice outdoor seating option.
