Good restaurant with a Stunning View!

Reaching this restaurant is half of the fun. The Gondola ride to the Summit House restaurant is worth every penny. We were not "in season" so no reservations were required, however we understand that is not the case, In Season! Would strongly reservations in season as the restaurant is on the smaller side and no one is in a hurry... More

Visited Summit House Restaurant on a Saturday around 1PM in early June. The gondola ride was a thrill for 2 young grandchildren but not so much for their father who we discovered doesn't care for heights. 7 of us got a table inside the Summit House which was a good thing since the temp had dropped substantially from the start... We've been coming here with our dogs for years. It's the only lift ride that I'm aware of that they're allowed. You can bring them onto the outside terrace for lunch or dinner with you. This is the highest view that you'll ever get of Mt Rainier from your dining room chair and if you time the season's sunset withe... More

Food was pricey and nothing special. But everything tastes better with a view. Nice outdoor seating option.

We loved our Gondola Ride to the top of the mountain. The Menu was minimal at best and very pricey for what you got. I would like to see a more traditional menu with prices that accommodate all back grounds. I would never eat there again or recommend it. But absolutely take a trip to the top and enjoy our... More

My husband and I decided to check this place out for our 1 year wedding anniversary. He called made a reservation a few weeks ahead of time. We got there it was a warm day, we purchased our tickets for the gondola, kind of pricey. Was $40+ for us both. We were early so we walked around the shops, and... More

Book ahead of time on a sunny day for lunch so you can enjoy the view. Tasty food, service satisfactory but not spectacular.

We tried our luck and came out here while on vacation in January. The weather was terrific and in the 40's at the 5,000 ft level and after taking the gondola up to the summit at 7,000 ft the temp was actually 51 degrees on January 4th. Incredible. The views can't be matched Mt. Ranier right out the window at... More

Dined at Summit House in September on the way to Mt. Rainier. What a View! We rode the gondola up the mountain and witnessed a spectacular view of the Cascade Mountain range skyline. Mt. Rainer, Mt. Baker, Mt. St Helens, and even Mt. Hood were visible with binoculars. The food was average, but the view more than made a trip... More

Dining at Summit House restaurant in the middle of the summer is a big treat. If you're a hiker, enjoy an excellent hike with gorgeous views and then treat yourself to a scrumptious meal and cold, frosty brew. It doesn't get any better than that. Even if you're not a hiker, you can take the gondola to the same destination.... More
