A Cozy Little Restaurant

My partner and I ate dinner here on a Friday night. The menu isn't large, but there is something for everyone. Being vegetarians, we chose the vegetarian offering, vegetable lasagna, which also happened to be on special that night. We ordered 2 dinners and split a Greek salad along with shared... read more

The last two summers, while travelling on our way east on the Trans Canada Highway, we stopped at Bella's Bistro and enjoyed our lunches both times. This last time, we had the seafood chowder and loved it. We also ordered a local white wine which we also enjoyed. The service was "A1". Bella's will be become a regular stop for... More

After a stop at the nearby Nova Scotia provincial visitor centre, it was a short trip into Amherst for lunch. Bella's, on the main shopping street near banks and other services, provided a pleasant and quick (but not fast) lunch of soup, salad, and sandwiches. Soup (barley) was so-so. Salads were quite good and quite large - chicken was very... More

The food here is creative and very high quality. I had the Chicken salad with mango; it was tasty with light mayo, herbs and fresh greens. The cream of broccoli soup was a bit bland. My wife had the seafood chowder and it was excellent. The portions were filling so we didn't have room for dessert. I'd definitely stop here... More

My family and I have been to Bella's several times over the past few months. It is the nicest restaurant in Amherst. While the menu is not exhaustive the food is awesome and they are willing to make modifications to suit dietary preferences. The restaurant is small but adds to its quaint charm. The service is always impeccable and it... More

Food generally good, although soups I find to be bland. Their desserts are very good and homemade. Carrot cake and the coconut cake are very moist and delicious. One piece is enough for 2 people.

My husband and I visited Bella's for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant, though small, has ample tables, and by the time we were there for some time, most were filled. They do take reservations, but we were there early so didn't bother. We asked to split a large spinach salad, and also to split the seafood pasta dish. I was... More

Nice little Bistro. Staff were friendly. Food was good and some of my family who were picky eaters loved it.

A friend of mine and I went for lunch one Friday not long ago to Bella's. Upon entering the establishment we got a most unpleasant smell of "lingering fish." We were no sooner seated that we decided that we would not be able to endure a meal in that restaurant with such a strong and offensive odor. I will not... More

Stopped here coming from Maine to the Newfoundland Ferry based on the positive reviews on this site. Overall good, friendly service with delicious artisan style soups and homemade sandwiches. I had the open faced tuna melt, which was very tasty. Would definitely stop here again.
