We finally stopped byTruffle Pigs recently after driving by for literally years. The food is refreshingly inventive, compared to the other restaurants in the Banff and Lake Louise area. Let it be known there is a choice between pub food and high-end dining! The brisket platter is a must; meltingly tender smoked brisket with house made baguette (one of the... More

Delicious, inventive and wonderfully friendly service. A must try in the Canadian Rockies. Stop by here after hiking in Yoho or visiting Emerald Lake. You won't regret it!

As has been said, this restaurant is a gem in an unlikely location. Supper was delicious, and views of mountains spectacular. Much more affordable than Lake Louise. Service in the evening was prompt. For breakfast, however, the menu was overpriced and after failing to get any service to even take our order, it was off to the Siding Café for... More

This is the only restaurant in Field - there is also an excellent diner - and they seem to be relying on the lack of competition. First impressions were negative based on the "off-hand" welcome, these were reinforced when after being told that our chosen wine was not available we were offerred/recommended an alternative at almost twice the price and... My wife and I stayed and ate here. The food was creative and delicious. There was plenty of variety for such a small town. We would come back.

Nope!!! In the tiny village of Field, BC (pop. 169); located 33 km (20 miles) west of Lake Louise, Alberta is the Truffle Pig. We were headed to Emerald Lake (also a 5-star visit) and this place was recomended. We are so glad we stopped. They have a truly gourmet menu and the food and service was terrific. The pork... More

We stopped in Field for lunch and visited Truffle Pigs Bistro, and discovered a little gem in the rockies. Simply put the food was fresh, tasty, and great value. The bistro is part of a little lodge, which I am sure is as well run, as the restaurant. What was amazing was that I ran into a family who was... More

We stopped for a dinner there after a day of rafting. The place was suggested to us by our rafting guide. It has been an amazing surprise! The place is very cute and the staff very polite. The food was amazing, cooked with passion and with some ingredients not so common in Canada. It has been a real surprise find... More
