I have stopped in several times, mainly for a coffee and muffins, but this day I decided on a breakfast. I was not disappointed, the scrambled eggs were cooked correctly, lots of homemade panfries in stead of those awful frozen cubes… and wonderful coffee, and a muffin to go, around $10.00, what a deal!! Of course, having a newspaper to read made... More

If you are tired of the monotonous menus of fast food chains, check out the Beantime in Ladysmith. Easy access if you're heading south on the Island Highway; it's just a half block up High Street which intersects with Highway 19. The coffee is freshly ground on site, the food is made in their kitchen, the bread is home-made, and... More

We had a lovely seat on the street in comfy chairs while enjoying coffee and a HUGE cinnamon bun (I mean REALLY big). Wonderful staff. There's always a nice bucket of water available for a thirsty dog. Ours appreciated the refreshment.

Visited to have lunch meeting. Roast beef sandwich on whole wheat bread was delicious and filling - lovely bread - but I'm not fond of nacho chips. Would have been nice to have maybe small green salad or potato salad offered or, if one wants to avoid cutlery, good quality Kettle potato chips. The restaurant was busy at 11:30 but... More

It was a busy morning when we went into the cafe...the only table available was by the door, not a good spot on a cold day. Th service was good, freindly and familiar . Coffees and pastries were lovely, food seems to be homemade. They also do lunches and live music nights. Overall quite pleasant.

We have been frequenting In the Bean Time for 7 years now. The owners are very nice and very friendly. The premises is old and quaint and feels comfortable. Somehow it doesn't always feel fresh and clean however. A place can be old and at the same time very fresh, with fresh paint and immaculate upholstery etc. I would recommend... More

When we are in Ladysmith, we usually make a point of stopping in to the Beantime for coffee or a light meal. Everything is made right there and you can see into the kitchen the work that goes into preparing your food. They offer a variety of baked goods, hard to resist, and we have enjoyed every meal eaten there,... More

Everything in the beantime is homemade. Two soups fresh everyday. At least two great specials. Lots of goodies made fresh.

I go there often after my TOPS class. They will make a half order for you the weigh you like! They are friendly and atmosphere is homey. It is usually full around 11.00 am. Homestyle cooking! Have lots to choose from on the menu, always a special each day. You have to order first and then sit down and they... More
