Lunenburg is a really quaint village and I was hoping to experience some decent seafood after seeing the other reviews and recommendations on a few foodie forums. I was extremely disappointed and found the food just not good; but then good is a relative term. The clam chowder was overpowered by the smoked bacon (of the liquid smoke in the... More

Whenever we visit Lunenburg we always eat at Magnolia's Grill. During our recent weeks stay at the Salty Rose Cottages we ate here three times. The fish is always fresh and done to perfection. Do not miss eating here. Be sure to try the key lime pie for dessert.

Simple non-pretentious surroundings, great friendly and knowledgable staff, topped off with the freshest, tastiest seafood we have enjoyed since being in Canada.

I had a halibut steak fresh from the sea and a fantastic greek salad. Had a rice pudding dessert I had never had before which was great. I highly recommend it.

We arrived for an early supper and they were so accommodating. Our little dog was given a nice bowl of water and a place on the deck- we were able to sit in the cozy dining area. We had the peanut curry soup to start- excellent. The fish cakes, chicken tortillas, and the Thai noodle soup were all well presented and... More

A group from Archibald street in Lunenburg went looking for a restaurant that was open on Labor Day. Not much was open. Magnolia's Grill was. Consequently the restaurant was slammed with customers. Given the trying circumstance service was good. I had the peanut soup which is always excellent. The Chicken Tostada was good. Others in our party commented that the... More

Had a great dinner here in late August. Made reservations earlier in the day so had no trouble getting a table. Started off with the mussels. Portions were big and so were the mussels. The Lobster Linguine was rich, creamy and cheesy. Had lots of lobster. The haddock fish was fresh, tasty and in a large portion. Had the key... More

Recommended by a local and it was very good especially the seafood. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed our meals. Casual restaurant and bookings are advised, though walk ins are ok if dining early

Magnolia's is a local treasure. The food is excellent and the fish cakes are the best you will ever have, beautifully pan fried, not greasy. They have no deep fryer so this isn't a fish and chips joint. They have great salads, an amazing burger and a few different flavours from around the world. There is a chalk board menu... More

We were lucky enough to snag a table on the deck overlooking Lunenburg harbour for dinner. And the food was great! I had one of those fancy hamburgers stuffed with everting but the kitchen sink, my spouse had seafood. A lovely meal!
