Went for beer

It's a fun place. Met a bunch of local and partied most of the night with them. The beer is cold . The staff was just great. Went bar hopping with them after their shift. Had the pulled pork nachos and they where good but not the raves the staff said. Place was very busy and I would return... read more

The street patio like other Fernie Main Street restaurants is ok but too small and tight. We had a large group so went inside, with no A/C it was blazing hot. Not very busy inside but service was great, good beer selection and Tues special of beer and burger for $10 was a good deal, great burger!

If you are in no hurry. This is your place. Food was good. Just like other reviews. It took a while, we had nothing, but time so we had no issue. However if you are in any type of hurry not your place.

Waited over an hour for chicken wings and 2 steak sandwiches after a long drive. Not a good place for kids after a long day!

The Northern in a mainstay in Fernie for music, drinks, and dancing. Right in the middle of main street downtown in a historic old brick building - easy to find.

Beer tap menu is pretty good, (local brews). Service was good. Pop-up patio was good.... which was good because it was about 100F inside. Would return.

If you're not too concerned about staying warm, the Northern is a solid Wednesday night destination for a drink or two and to take advantage of the special on very tasty in-house wings. Somewhat limited beer selection but we did enjoy supping on a couple of pints of the locally brewed Lone Wolf IPA. Friendly and efficient staff, pool tables,... More

No one there, not much ambience--and cold temperature wise as well. The caesars were too sweet to enjoy and beer choices were limited. Washrooms had no hand towels.

The Northern is a bar with a decent menu. People who expect more and kidding themselves. You are not in a high end restaurant. The venue puts on a great deal of excellent music events, and they are usually open pretty consistent hours. If you want more food choices, there are some really good restaurants downtown Fernie. For a fun... More
