Popular spot for drinks/dancing/live music

The Northern in a mainstay in Fernie for music, drinks, and dancing. Right in the middle of main street downtown in a historic old brick building - easy to find.

Waited over an hour for chicken wings and 2 steak sandwiches after a long drive. Not a good place for kids after a long day!

Beer tap menu is pretty good, (local brews). Service was good. Pop-up patio was good.... which was good because it was about 100F inside. Would return.

If you're not too concerned about staying warm, the Northern is a solid Wednesday night destination for a drink or two and to take advantage of the special on very tasty in-house wings. Somewhat limited beer selection but we did enjoy supping on a couple of pints of the locally brewed Lone Wolf IPA. Friendly and efficient staff, pool tables,... More

No one there, not much ambience--and cold temperature wise as well. The caesars were too sweet to enjoy and beer choices were limited. Washrooms had no hand towels.

The Northern is a bar with a decent menu. People who expect more and kidding themselves. You are not in a high end restaurant. The venue puts on a great deal of excellent music events, and they are usually open pretty consistent hours. If you want more food choices, there are some really good restaurants downtown Fernie. For a fun... More

My experiences here have been okay. Both times I have gone have been for lunch. I have found the service to be quite slow, but otherwise the food is good and there are plenty of seats available. I would go back again.

The northern was really fun! It was expensive to drink there, but it had a good crowd of party goers. We watched a few debauchery's. There was a nice dance floor in the back.

Had lunch here over the long weekend. Took a LONG time to get served and get our food. Food was average. Luckily the weather was nice and we were sat out on the patio..

Staying in Fernie and we went out for dinner and Northern was our stop. Place was quiet and they were setting up for dinner and the late shift so we had our pick of seats. Our server was nice and informative when we asked a couple of questions. Their signature burger "The Northern" wasn't anything special but the Ponchos were... More
