Good, but ...

Loaf is a great restaurant. Good ingredients, well prepared, and inventive menu. However, of the 1/2 dozen times I have been there, I find the service to be consistently lethargic. I used to think that it was only because of the crowds (and this place is often crowded). But even when crowds... read more

I arrived at 6:40, they were out of 90% of dinner items already. Sooooo disappointing! Hours posted are not actual hours open. I guess you should eat dinner at 4 if you want your choice on their menu. Left so no idea if food was good or not, they didnt have anything to order

My wife and I went for breakfast this morning around 10am. There were no major lines which was great. The reviews seemed to favor this restaurant. First we asked for milk for my wife's coffee, unfortunately they brought us cream and my wife poured it in unsuspecting. That's easy to deal with except the staff was I guess very busy... More

Had the vegetable, egg option with spinach. The spinach came in a lump in the centre of the plate and tasted bitter. The hash brown was like those you'd get at McDonalds. Tea was given in a Single mug and had to ask for a top up of hot water. The eggs were good. Probably won't go back.

We went to the Loaf last night for dinner and came away underwhelmed. Our friends have been many times and were also disappointed. The food was quite fine, my salmon a bit overcooked but still lovely. My hubby had pizza and they quite willingly changed the bell pepper for red pepper. The trend to which I refer is the service.... We loved the loaf when we visited for lunch in 2014, but consistency of quality is a difficult goal for some restaurants. It appeared that Loaf was "rocked" with servers run off their feet when we visited. As a result service was slow and inattentive. I ordered their beet salad and spinach salad, which came with about 1/3 of the... More

We practically licked the bowls to get every last drop of the delicious soup! And the sandwiches were light and fresh. It was great to sit on the little patio and watch downtown Fernie at play.

We just popped in to grab a loaf of bread for a picnic lunch on our way through Fernie. The lady we dealt with was extremely friendly and helpful, even offering to slice an unsliced loaf if we needed as she knew we were travelling. We went for a loaf of Sourdough bread which was fantastic and VERY fresh. It's... More

Although the food is pretty good most of the times I have eaten there the service is always very slow and often forgetful, just not attentive, they need a more cohesive leader to drive this place to what it really could be. The service, or lack of puts me off going here even though I know I enjoy the food.
