Tiny little place of the main streets, but amazing!

We gave this place a try after searching for somewhere in Gatineau yo go for breakfast. They had the most incredible pastries (a box of which we took to go) and French toast sandwiches with pork roast and apple...delicious!

Stopped in for a late lunch. We ate beef and chicken sandwiches. They were very good. Well balanced flavors that went well with the homemade lemonade. A little expensive at 9 dollars per sandwich. Then bought a premade poulet a la creole FOR 2 to go and 2 pastries. Total cost 64$... I wasnt impressed with the chicken dinner AT... More

We went for brunch (opens at 10) a very warm Saturday of May. Ordered a Dutch baby as well as the Gauffre (waffle). The food is definitely excellent and the portions are big; the Dutch baby is very very sweet, although there's enough pork belly to up the protein count; the Gauffre was less sweet and was smaller but had... This tiny little place situated in a residential area of Gatineau is a little gem. First off, if you want to have a brunch there, you need to get there early in order to get a seat; a lineup will quickly form before it even opens and they don't take any reservations. Their menue consists of 3 to 4 dishes... More

Chez Edgar is one of my favourite places in the Ottawa area for brunch. I've been there numerous times and I have to say I am never disappointed! The Dutch Baby is a classic on their menu, which consists of a puff pastry with pork belly, old cheddar, apples and maple syrup! Huevos rancheros is also a classic on their... More

Weekday lunch starts at ten. Three sandwiches and two soups on the menu. Carrot soup was fantastic. Caesar panini disappointing as though nice flavor, the chicken was two large chunks. Dry, tasteless chunks that should have been more bite sized allowing the dressing etc to also.be part of the mouthful. Was hoping the chicken would be somewhat seasoned. The bread... More

This is another one of those places you can't come to Ottawa and not visit. It's like visiting Parliament; you can't not go! Okay, so the place is extremely tiny. And with how busy it can get, the chances of finding a seat is quite slim. We watched from our counter seat a group of friends eat out in the... More

I have been several time to Edgar with friends and family. The brunch menu is delectable: the dutchy is amazing but very, very rich. If you like opposing (or is complementary) flavours and textures, you will love the maple, cheddar, apple, crispy pancake mix. The huevos rancheros (or similar) is also a winner, with fresh guacamole. Everything is prepared with... More

A lovely neighbourhood café serving wonderful food. Always fresh and prepared with imagination. Tiny locale (serves 12 or so inside (and 4-6 more on the summer deck out front). Get their early and beat the take-out crowd as they do line up.

- Very tiny restaurant in Winter, in Summer there is a patio. - You should be early, there is always a long waiting line. - By far, the best brunch in The National Capital Region. - Everything is delicious, but Dutch Baby is my favorite, but Huevos Rancheros is another excellent option! Take a look at this video! http://www.foodnetwork.ca/shows/you-gotta-eat-here/video/season-2/edgar-dr-laffas-dianas-gourmet-pizza/video.html?v=64740931515&p=1&s=da&searchQuery=edgar#you-gotta-eat-here/video/search/edgar
