Lunch

Had a very nice, reasonably-priced lunch in a gorgeous setting. We are so glad there is somewhere to have a decent midday meal in Sooke again. Locals should come here often.

Last night I was taken out for a romantic dinner to the Harbour House. Nice spot and close to home....Yes, I am a local. I also have food allergies. Serious ones. I had informed our server to them. The restaurant has a deal for locals... $40.00 for 3 courses also an $85.00 for a 4 course option. Wine...food...service...all of what... More

Everything about this restaurant is good except for two key things... they chefs over rate their standards and don't seem to have a clue about seasoning. They'll be upset to hear that as they have a VERY high opinion of their food, but its true nevertheless. Having said that the food is also thoughtful, carefully prepared with often home grown... We stopped in for lunch during our travels through the South Island. The lunch menu is limited, but creative and very good. You are paying for the ambience and the view as well, but we knew that. Very attentive and friendly server who chatted with us at the end of our lunch. We will definitely return on our next trip.

Lovely ocean front location with fabulous views. Beautifully decorated, quiet and romantic...but very, very expensive and the food does not warrant the high prices. Very small portions. Menu has a very limited selection. It seems like the restaurant is relying on its old reputation and reviews and is not trying very hard anymore to be innovative with the menu. Lots... More

Since we discovered this lovely B&B on the south coast of Vancouver Island, we make a point of dining here every time we go to Victoria. Its a bit out of the way, about an hour southwest of Victoria, but it is along a beautiful stretch of coastline and the dining experience is well worth the trip. Their pre-fix menus... More

We went by recommendation and were not disappointed. The food was to die for and all locally sauced. The maître d' was both knowledgeable and helpful without being patronising. His knowledge of local wines even prompted us to go the vineyard and buy some to take home. A perfect place to eat and be attended to in a perfect way.

The atmosphere here is calm and relaxing. The staff are very knowledgeable on the food and the wine. The Chefs are amazing. Expensive, but well worth the experience.

We enjoyed a superb lamb dinner while at the Sooke Harbour House Restaurant last Monday evening (September 28th). The food was wonderful and chats with our incredibly knowledgeable sommelier/waitress (Jessica) really made the evening. We hope to RETURN soon - Peter & Ann.

Our party of 4 arrived on October 3rd, 2015 for dinner and expected exceptionally high quality service for the over the top rice for a fixed price 4 course meal at $85 per person. We simply didn't get it. Every course took forever to arrive. Soup bowls were not cleared until the remains were were hard as crust. I actually... More
