After years of ordering their smoked ham online, we were lucky enough to visit their restaurant. It is about a one hour drive north of Montreal. We arrived around 11:00 AM on a Thursday and there was no wait; however, there appeared to be a lot of people waiting when we left (~12:00). Rustic chalet but a cozy wood burning... More

Au Petit Poucet serves rustic Quebec cuisine in a rustic Quebec decor, and it's open all year seven days a week. The food is reasonably good. The tourtiere, a savory pie of ground meat seasoned with clove and allspice is slightly above average, and the somewhat bland meatballs are slightly below average. The pudding chomeur is as usual a great... More

After a few tries (the wait was too long), we finally went for breakfast at 8:00am on a Saturday morning. The food was very good. You have to try everything. I chose the « Ogre » because i was hungry. Satisfaction at 110%. M-Josée was the most smiling person we’ve met in the restaurant industry. She took time to explain... More

Location: Up in the Laurentians - you'll have to map it and make sure you've got a car handy because transit doesn't exist up here. Private parking lot on site. The place: Quite big and totally country meets chalet. It's very cozy with lots of wood and a big fireplace in the center. Take note: if you're lucky enough to... More

Spent a weekend recently in Val David with some other couples and this place was recommended for breakfast on Saturday. Told it was popular so not to go too late as there would be a long line-up. We listened and went early enough that although the place was pretty full we did not have to wait to get in. Not... More

We are so glad we chose this restaurant, the decor is charming French Canadian. We struggled through the French menu till our charming helpful waitress turned it over and there was the English ...I still chose the Ogre breakfast and it was just excellent, get the upgraded toast. Everything was delicious ......and beans for breakfast too. Come hungry, you won't... More
