I have reviewed this little restaurant before. Since that time unfortunately, a key staff member passed away, and the restaurant had a change of ownership. Nothing has changed, It's still excellent food, varied menu and good prices. I usually go in with a hiking group, as we did today. Ten of us arrived to an already very busy scene, but... More

We finally took the time to come here as we were in the area. This neat little place is rooted in history with many art works hanging on walls waiting for a buyer! As well as your typical west coast items displayed all over. We opted to sit on the outdoor patio and enjoy the view on a very warm... More

We found this place quite by accident. It was quaint and the people were very friendly. I ordered the oyster burger. I asked how many oysters were on it and she said 4. I made a face and she assured me that4 would be plenty. Well she was right. The oysters were huge and delicious. I wish we could have... More

Love the food - it's fresh and I just love the homemade feel of the gravy. The atmosphere was amazing - so close to the water and you can feel how clean the air is. Great local music playing.

Stopped by this lovely cafe on way to the ferry. Had a great lunch...healthy portions, tasty food and super staff. Recommend it to anyone going to/through Qualicum Bay. Part of the restaurant also serves as an art gallery for local artists, and several nights a week local musicians come to play! Quite the community hub!

After having driven by this place many times, we finally stopped in early one morning. What a surprise! The cafe is well situated by the water and you can take in the view both inside or out on the pleasant patio. Our server was friendly and efficient. We opted for the traditional breakfast which featured very generous portions of tasty... More

When they put malt vinegar down, you hope they are good. Well I was not disappointed. Batter was a little heavy but generous portions. And wow great view

I arrived at around 4pm. Not a great time to expect a fresh lunch. I ordered the sushi and gomae special out of many possibles (including halibut and chips, oyster burger, bison burger... My dynamite roll (the special) had obviously been freshly assembled. The rice was slightly warm, the shrimp hot. The gomae salad had obviously been made with steamed... More

Four of us ate there today. One lady had the chicken burger and said it was really tasty. Two of us discovered the sushi menu on the last page and odered Dynamite rolls, Tempura yam rolls and their California roll topped with Mango Puree and Avocado. Best sushi ever, fresh and so tasty. Prices were great and portion sizes were... More

The previous viewer said the Sandbar Cafe wasn't there anymore but they are wrong. I'm camping just down the road and just drove by it and customers in the Cafe. Ate there a couple weeks ago and it was very good.
