Fine food and great service....assuming you find the right waiter

We visited Qualicum Beach Inn two days in a row, the food was definitely good on both days, unlike the service. The firsts day we had a very attentive waiter who gave great advice an paid attention to our needs. The 2nd visit however were "served" by a bored waiter wearing dark sunglasses hiding... read more

At best, the food is mediocre. It is obvious that the management of this restaurant is struggling to find it's way. We have visited a number of times, always hoping that things will get better but Sunday, Aug 22, 2015 we walked out in disgust. We were there for breakfast, and after one hour without anyone approaching us with anything... More

We were there for a 93rd birthday brunch with two elderly family members. The service was poor - my husband had to get up twice from the table to ask for items: spoons for coffee and a coffee refill later in the meal. On both occasions there were no servers in sight. The food was very poor: scrambled eggs were... More

Have eaten here a few times both for lunch and dinner. Meals were great and overall the service was good although we did have one fellow a few days ago whose personality was a bit lacking. Not rude or anything, just a quiet brown paper bag of nothingness. Aside from him our other servers and wait staff have been great.... More

Why do such great places hire bartenders based upon their appearance and not their people skills?!?! We were here the other day and the guy behind the bar was great! ...informative and very pleasant. Tonight - not a smile, no conversation but great hair! When is the other guy back here? Great food, great table service and amazing views but... More

We stopped here on our way home from Victoria. Did not have a reservation. The hostess welcomed us warmly and took us to a table. Our server, Brittany, arrived promptly. She had a great personality and was very engaging. Everyone who came near our table was professional and efficient. All were dressed very well. Our food was fabulous. We will... More

We were celebrating our anniversary; did not have a reservation but stopped by and were welcomed and offered a couple of seating choices. We opted for inside and loved the decor. Drinks and appetizers arrived. The Riptide Squid with chili - out of this world and the cucumber salad - delightful. Our entrees were Panko halibut (delicious) and Pacific Albacore... More

Four of us came for lunch. First visit since renovated and was very impressed. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Outside patio was comfortable. Food was good and came fairly fast.

WE were a party of four on a super busy Friday nite and it was fabulous. We had a window seat so we were privy to a gorgeous sunset, but it was dinner that trumped the evening. We started by sharing a delicious salad with BBQd salmon, noodles, greens and a mouthwatering dressing..grand, main course, one person had Halibut and... More

I came here for dinner as part of group of four with reservations. Although the restaurant wasn't crowded, we waited for over 20 minutes after being seated without anyone coming to our table or even looking at us. I finally got up and asked someone if we were somehow forgotten, and he went off to and told our server -... More
