A old home with a garden setting that one can eat out in the better weather. The food has been good when we have gone there. Fair value for your money and portions are good. Service has been good. Fish is the main staple on the menu, but it does have other things also.

Used to be the best place in our area to eat. Place changed hands and food went from excellent to average. Reservations used to be a must. We used to be regulars.

I have tried to write two other negative reviews for this restaurant and they never show up. So I will summarize. The worst fish and chips ever (threw them out first time). Gave them a second chance . . . not much better and way over priced at $32.00 for two pieces of halibut and a hand full of what... More

The place has a lot of character and the employees were nice. However, the food was average at best and pricey for what you get. We had the $21 3 course special - fish and chips with a stater salad and toffee sticky pudding cake type desert. The fish was very average, the slaw was made with dill, and the... More

Once again, great food, great service at Fish Tales Cafe in Qualicum Beach. Nearby diners were saying the same thing. Also, that they had been coming here for years and it has always been one of their favorite local places to enjoy. I seem to always have the traditional fish and chips but of course they have so much more... More

Greasy Halibut, small portions and very expensive for what you get. Will never return to this place again. was recommended by a local when I was looking for Fish and chips.

I had a friend coming to visit who is into seafood and enjoying a good meal. Unfortunately, his meal today went far beyond good and was rapidly approaching excellence. Unfortunate only in that he is from Alberta and cannot visit as often as he would like. The clam chowder was, in his words, the best he had ever eaten, and... More

Our dinner favourites? The Butternut Squash Soup (on the winter menu) - a delicately spiced bowl of comfort food that we're still raving about. My personal favourite ... the Thai Chili Prawns - perfectly cooked with just the right amount of heat and a hint of sweetness. We both gave the Barbeque Ribs high marks for fall-off-the-bone yumminess, and we... More

Dropped in for lunch with a business associate. I sampled the Cioppino, which, if you haven't tried it, is something like a bouillabaisse. A big bowl was full of clams, mussels, prawns and halibut (I may have missed something) and everything was very fresh and tasty to the extreme. I understand the fish and chips are the featured dish here... More

I went to Fish Tales for an impromptu lunch with some contacts of mine. I must say, I was VERY impressed. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was theme appropriate (think English cottage). The cannelloni was delicious (so much seafood), and the Pavlova was UNBELIEVEABLE. So light, and wonderful - I will be ordering this every time I... More
