Charming English Spot

How can you drive by this charming little English Tudor house and not drive in? The garden alone is enough to make you turn in. Best part is when you walk in and find yourself in a totally English pubsy restaurant with all the kitschy decore on the walls. It's fun. The food is very good and I... read more

I have to say the food was very good - once it arrived. There were 4 of us, 2 couples. The restaurant was not busy, about 1/4 full when we arrived and we were seated quickly and supplied with menus. It was at least 15 minutes before the waitress returned (remember there are only 3 or 4 other tables occupied... More

We wanted a local fish and chips place and this did the job. It was a little pricey but we enjoyed everything we ordered. We even went back the next day for even more popcorn shrimp. They were the best!

I have no words to describe how scrumptious the food was at this place!! It has reasonable pricing and a beautiful garden to eat in. Highly recommended in my books.

Everyone loves fish a and chips don't they ? Well our travelling vegetarian doesn't but Fish Tales catered for him without any issue. Great quality fish in wonderful batter and pleasantly served to us. The only negative is that the decor is dated but that does not detract in anyway from the wonderful food that was served up for us.

Sunday lunch of all you can eat fish and chips and coleslaw. Quantity of initial serving quite large so we didn't ask for more. Spinach salad with grilled halibut was perfect.

Delicious fish and chips while sitting in the sun on a well maintained lawn. What's not to like? Highly recommended.

so I guess this is a little unfair because we didn't stay to eat. We are from Victoria so use to pricey fair but seriously $30 for fish & Chips is crazy expensive, especially on the Island. That wasn't the main reason we didn't stay tho. It smelt really fishy and fresh fish doesn't smell. Maybe we hit at a... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a note. Usually we have our carpets thoroughly steam cleaned twice a year and May is one of those months. Sadly we have lost one of our beloved owners on May 30 and have not had the time to think about our carpets. As for our fish we only use fresh... More

We where welcome without reservations. Service was grumpy and dis-organized. Food was greasy. There was no time for table conversations, because that table had to be cleared for another couple that DID have a reservation.

Thank you for your review. We apologize that your experience wasn't up to our usual high standards. Our ownership and team have been working in the past month knowing each day that we could lose our beloved owner Rachel. Sadly she passed away in the early morning hours of May 30. Our staff have stepped up to the plate to... More
