Food here is fine. Lots of fish freshly cooked. The problem, for us at least, was when we came to pay the bill. We were stood over by the waiter with the credit card machine and told to leave a tip. Not asked. But told !!! Ruined the occasion. They need to be fired.

Almost in the last week of the season (September) I went there at 6pm, a little bit too cold to sit outside. The catch of the day was well-presented (the cook in the fishing boat this morning :-) ) and tasted as fresh as probably in the early afternoon. Wine and service were good, the usual stories why italians love... More

We've tried numerous restaurants across Europe. Michelin Star restaurants in cute towns in Provence, Swiss alps, Tuscany, Singapore, etc. And i must say that even factoring all those places (their food, service, and locational qualities), this place isolated in the middle of nowhere up above the Arctic Circle was absolutely fantastic. It's a "must go" restaurant if you go to... More

Really nice taste and cooked exactly as I wanted. The meat was soft and they used nice spices and herbes. Very friendly staff. Clean and light restaurant with nice view andcoutside terrace. Go there!

We were recommended to eat at Maren Anna by a local Norwegian person here in Lofoten Islands. Immediately we were greeted by the friendly floor staff, Sara and Federico and their courteous, attentive manner continued all evening. Both were professional, mulit-lingual, extremely friendly and were very passionate about the restaurant, the food and the culture in which they worked. Very... More

Was there for a few drinks, and experienced excellent service from a funny and sociable barkeep. Located right on the docks, with the Lofoten mountains surrounding.

Maren Anna comes recommended by other visitors, and has the potential to be a fine restaurant. However, on this Saturday evening the service seemed a bit hurried and under-qualified. It's fine to employ foreign wait staff (Spanish in this case), but shouldn't they at least know the English word for 'torsk' (cod) and realize that that is also what their... More

I went there to eat for lunch in July 2012 after having read a lot of good reviews about it. But it was a bit of a disappointment as the lunch menu (which isn't great) is not the same as the evening menu (which looks great), what wasn't clearly stated on the entrance door (where you can only read the... We wisited the restaurant in the end of june 2012. For us this was an absolutely fantastic experience. First of all, the service was very good, even with a full restaurant, our waiter( Federico) managed to perform fantastic service, smiling all the time. We eat whale, lemon fried fish and tenderloin. Everything perfectly prepared, and presented in a very artistic... More

We discovered Maren Anna by chance and had a very good lunch there. The view over the tiny port is very nice and the food was quite good. The only thing to watch for is that the restaurant caters to busloads of tourists, so it can be pretty busy if you wanted a quiet time.
