Top notch

Couple had terrific meals at this classy place. The prices are reasonable for fine food. Waiters were friendly. The current owners have been there 14 years and know the business. This is worth a trip. It is only a few miles from the downtown of St. Andrews.

This inn is located on a hill outside of town and boasts a very popular restaurant, so make reservations well in advance for dinner. We enjoyed two dinners here, service and food at both were very good. The front porch is a pleasant place to enjoy a drink before dinner, the view is nice (but not spectacular).

This was the first time my parents and I visited St. Andrews, and we couldn't have been happier to get a reservation at Rossmount. Not only was the seafood cuisine melt-in-your-mouth incredible (I might say some of the best we've ever tasted), but the service was of the highest quality. Many people here have already written about the food so... More

Our second visit of the season to the Rossmount, we left incredibly happy once again! We love going over the subtle changes to the seasonal menu when we arrive. We can't pass up the fresh Oysters, Beef Carpaccio or the Chicken entrée! We're already looking forward to our next meal here!

We were lucky enough to be invited to dine here with our dear friends who just happened to be in St. Andrews at the same time as us and who were staying at this charming inn. (The Inn is lovely by the way and they said it was a wonderful place to stay). The dining room is very pretty and... More

This is world class cuisine. The flavour combinations are amazing and sometimes surprising, and the dishes well-executed. Ingredients are fresh and locally sourced. Service for us has always been friendly and professional. I have had many amazing dishes here but I just can't help going back to the beef carpaccio appetizer time and again - it never gets old! We... More

One of the finest restaurants I have ever dined in. Chef is masterful in his creations and use of seasonings. Excellent ambiance. Recommend cocktails and hors d'œuvres in the library/bar area and some cognac, after the meal, there as well. Last time we were there, I started with "Les Foies Gras"...superb! Have not been there in three years, but know... More

We absolutely LOVED this restaurant. First of all, it's in a beautiful old home turned hotel. The grounds were lovely (even though it was raining and didn't get to enjoy it.) I had made our reservation about a week before arriving and because I forgot to write down what time we made it for (it was actually for 6pm) we... More

Without a doubt the food is very good, but let's face it a great food experience can be tainted by the quality of the service. You can tell the servers don't have the experience of servers in other fine dining restaurants. Our reservation was late without apology, the server seemed more interested in taking orders as if she was in... More

Sometimes a restaurant you found superlative during a first visit pales upon one's return --- not so at the Rossmount! My husband and I had a truly memorable meal here in 2013 (see my earlier review) and recently had the pleasure of returning for dinner with dear friends, a local couple. The four of us had a lot of catching... More
