Went to the Bauernhaus for a friend getaway. Read the reviews and had to try them. There was a bunch of us with about six kids. We made reservations a few days before which seemed to be a good idea. We all ordered the requisite schnitzel and they were very nice. The mushroom sauce was excellent. The decor is nice... More

Don't forget to reserve to have a table! Great food, great atmosphere and kids' friendly. We were 9 and the food: venison and pork schnitzel as well as Sauerkraut or any other plate we ordered were excellent and really tasted like in Germany and Austria!!!!

I went here for dinner with my husband while on vacation in Kimberley. The food was excellent and the service was great, too! The building is beautiful and it's well-worth it just to see the immaculately finished interior. The wood-work is beautiful, and while it's clear that the space is older, that's what makes it so charming and full of... More

A group of us ate there and we all had nothing but good things to say about our meals. The food is fresh and the portions are huge. It is a little pricey, but totally worth it for a nice evening out. Love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the history of the building. Service is a little slow, so... More

this restaurant uses local produce when available and support local farmers. They work hard to make your dining experience one of pleasure and taste. Food is wonderful and the service is always friendly and helpful. This is a place where community can gather and be supported as well.

We had the Feast which was more than enough for two but such a great sampler of a lot of the authentic German dishes. I couldn't decide which dish was my favourite as I enjoyed them all! Really enjoyed the ambiance with a great story to the building itself.

Food was excellent. Advice on what to order was excellent. Staff was friendly and food was prompt. Great experience. And we walked from the hill. Welcome walk home in the snow after our big meal too!

My husband and i had wanted to try this restaurant for years but it just never worked out. A group of us drove 135 km. specifically to dine on fabulous food in an 1880's German "barn". It did not disappoint. The service was wonderful and the food was fantastic. The six of us picked several appetizers and 2 Bavarian Feasts plus... More
