We have tried to eat at this well known restaurant several times. At last we were able to celebrate my husband's birthday there. Wonderful food, atmosphere, service! Highly recommended! Well worth the trip to Kimberley!

Living out here for over 12 years I've been told multiple times to get up there and try it. So I booked a office party for Christmas. I found the building and surroundings wonderful, the service was really second to none. Some really interesting dishes on the menu. I found the food good, not amazing as I'd been told but... More

We made our reservation 2 months in advance because of the season, glad we did as the place was hopping. We ordered the Bavarian Feast for 6. It is a fantastic sampling of the best of German food. Lots of small tastes as appetizers and then the solid German hiking food for the main. Wonderful locally grown produce. Service was... More

We went for a family dinner, as we were intrigued first by local comments on the quality of the food, and second the history of the building. We were not disappointed. First, we would strongly recommend reservations; we phoned 4 days ahead and had to wait until 8PM (maybe a result of being close to Christmas, but all the same…local... More

If you like rich, meaty, German food you will probably love this old reconstructed 'barn' transported from Germany. Being a vegetarian, I was left with only a couple of options and nothing that really satisfied. Go for the meat and the atmosphere. It's a beautiful place.

Technically, one of the oldest buildings in Canada. It was built in Germany, taken apart and rebuilt here in Kimberley

Whether you're local or not. Dining at the Baurenhaus is a treat. The food is second to none, it's fresh and as local as they can get it. It's a great feeling to eat locally grown food that is prepared and served so well. The atmosphere is warm, everything around you is wood, from the tables, benches, chairs and tables... More

Delicious, awesome, excellent. I have not the words to say... The bread we get as a small starter tastes like the bread my granny in Bavaria baked for us. The Wiener Schnitzel and also the pan fried potatoes were perfect. I had lots of Schnitzel before (at home in Bavaria) but never better than today. Service was really nice and... More

Very luck to live in Kimberley and have the quality of restaurants that we do. The feast is tremendous and the atmosphere great. Order the feast and a bottle of wine with friends and enjoy a couple of relaxing hours with great food and service.
