The food was spectacular and fresh, and such big helpings! They use a lot of local ingredients including organic and free range meats. The dishes were unique while still traditional. We sat on the quiet, comfortable patio outside and admired the old building, the flowers, etc. Great beer, too. The only thing to note is that description says $20-$25, but... More

Best in town if you seek it out. Historic building and delicious, creative slow cooked meals. Reserve for parties of 5 or more.

This restaurant is one of the best we have ever been to. The building is a beautiful wooden farmhouse that has been transported from Germany and like the food is authentic Bavarian. We had the homemade Bavarian sausages (Weisswurst) with sweet mustard which were excellent with the aromatic homemade sourdough bread. The Maultaschen (German ravioli) stuffed with goats cheese and... More

It is a great place to visit and enjoy the history of the building. Pair that with some authentic German food and one could feel like in the Alps. All of our family are good eaters and after 3 courses we were very happy.

It was a neat ole building thats forsure and the food was like home made however I am not sure what all the hype was about! Two of the guys left hungry still. Yet like I said it was good....just pricey. I feel nutral about it and would not make a special trip to go there again.

We chose the Old Bauernhaus to celebrate our anniversary and we were blown off our feet with the food and the service. The restaurant is in an old barn built in 1640 in Southern Germany where the current owner had it dismantled and reconstructed at its present location in Kimberley. The menu is entirely authentic German, and the food is... More

This is a perfect German alpine restaurant. The atmosphere is rustic bar like, with everything made of pine....floors, walls, ceiling table and chairs. You feel right at home in your jeans and wooly sweater. The food is awesome. I had the pork schnitzel with pear and Brie. My wife had the veal with mushrooms in cream sauce. We arrived late... More

Great service! We had the Bavarian feast and it was really good. Kids had different thing off the kids menu and they each really enjoyed that. We asked to see the photo album of barn being moved from Germany and we all enjoyed looking at that. Out of all the meals we've ate in Kimberley this was our favorite.

Great food service and atmosphere. We ordered the feast and were not disappointed, the whole experience was at least three hours and very fun. The reconstructed restaurant is just so cool and the photos of the reconstruction neat. Would definitely go back next time we are in Kimberly

Visited with some colleagues, had a great time, and a nice meal. We shared the 'Bavarian feast' and was a nice way to sample what the chef has to offer. Is a lot of courses / food, but they pace it well, makes for a nice evening in a nice atmosphere on the mountain.
