Cute restaurant with great atmosphere and friendly service in Kimberley, BC. Located in the Platzl . Each main dish comes with bread and a salad made in front of you with your choice of dressings - ask for extra croutons!!! We recommend the breaded mushrooms as an appetizer!

We went to this restaurant for a New Year's eve dinner with friend. The inside has a German theme but overall the decor is very dated and fatigued. The food was rather bland and some of our food was undercooked. We ordered a steak medium and it was clearly very rare and unpleasant. When we told this to the server... More

Really really good German food. Great service. Been there three times, had sausage and kraut to die for. The Sat evening prime rib was superb.

Another one of our absolute favourites! We visit every year from the UK (we even had my Dad Dave's 70th birthday bash here!!!) and keep coming back year after year for it's quirky Bavarian kitsch and superb food! The filet steak au poive is the best I've had anywhere in the World and Ann Marie is a true host in... More

Right on the Platzl, Kimberley's Bavarian main square, the Gasthaus serves German-style food of good quality on their patio. We enjoyed this restaurant.

We found this restaurant in the beautiful town of Kimberly while tired and hungry; we found the right place. The service was excellent- very accomodating and helpful. The food was very good, and per my frequent trips to Germany, seemed authentic. And delicious. I had the sausage selection- with the bratwurst being the best. At our table we also had... More

We sat outside on a gorgeous night. The food was plentiful, and tasty, but not incredible or anything. The beer was warm so that wasn't a good thing. The sausages were quite yummy, and the schnitzel was pronounced quite adequate. So, good meal, but not remarkable.

We were a bit leary when we walked in. Old decor and took forever for the scatterbrained young girl to finally seat us. My meal was fantastic!! The steak was the best I have ever had, and let me tell you, Ive had a few. I could literally cut it with a fork. Wow. Server Dave's first day and he... More

Kimberley has a German/Bavarian/Austrian/Swiss theme and the Platzl (main square) has a fine selection of restaurants & shops. We asked locals for a restaurant recommendation (I was especially looking for schnitzel) and the Gasthaus was the top recommendation. The restaurant is very nice and because of the beautiful weather we sat outside. The Wiener schnitzel with spaetzle and red cabbage... More

If you are looking for a good traditional German meal, this is probably the place to go. Nothing too out of the ordinary, pleasant service and nice location.
