My husband & I stopped in Tor's Fish & Chips last year ,2010. They had an ad for their fried Halibut sandwich!! We were vacationing for a week in this area and ate at Tor's Fish & Chips 3-4 times in that week. Absolutely the best in Orillia. No reason to try any other place. We sat with Doreen, owner, for quite a while during one of our visits. Very nice and hard working. I do hope she is doing well.

Like over 'ome!

Traditional English style fish and chips at the foot of Mississaga Street. Generous helpings at a fair price. Don't forget to order coleslaw or mushy peas. !0 percent off on Wednesdays for seniors. Nice décor and quick service.

Had takeout from here the other night. Ordered two of the haddock & chips meals (with one of them having an extra piece of fish). The fish were large pieces, and the fries were home fries (most likely cut onsite) which were bountiful. Although the meal was good, the fish was a little more greasy than I was expecting which... Had the pleasure of having the Halibut and Chips. Best fish and chips I've ever had and I've I've had many many meals all over Canada. Everything is made fresh. Excellent Cole slaw and tartar sauce, both home made. If you are ever in Orillia make a point of trying this restaurant, which is also spotless.

Been here twice now, halibut great - light batter; fries nicely done, best slaw in a while. Did I say the fish was awesome?

We've eaten fish and chips a number of places and bring a friend from England here all the time. He raves about the great clam chowder here. No one can touch their product. Why? The owner knows her fish, we go for haddock as halibut prices have gone through the roof - just the market these days. Ordering haddock means... More

I've eaten Fish & Chips quite a few times in quite a few places in 70+ years and Tor's is the best I've had so far. I don't understand the 2 poor ratings below certainly not my experience after several visits - although in the case of the one review titled “Not the greatest! They rip you off!” I think... More

Senior discount on Wednesday. No table service. Fish and Sweet potato fries are delicious. Better brand of root beer would have been appreciated.

This fish was the absolute WORST fish I ever ate! Batter was very greasy and almost burned. Fries were soggy. There is apparently a very popular "Homemade Iced Tea" that we tried but avoid it unless you like Fruit Punch!
