I rarely write a review of any establishment within a arbitrary radius of my home. I often find hometown reviews elsewhere to be biased based on local scuttlebutt, bruised egos and family loyalties and as such strive to be objective in my own. I seldom visit Gananoque for entertainment/dining purposes. It's quite close to my home and the cliché proverb... More

Certainly not the best....they had ribs on their menu and as their daily special. The ribs were cold and the sauce warm....was very disappointed in the meal. As others pointed out...nothing spectacular...our waitress was very nice and very friendly...but the meal was left to be desired. Gananoque needs good restaurants...we had the opportunity to try 4 restaurants during our 2... More

When we first came in, we though that we found a complete gem of an English pub. The menu looked like it had great potential. Good ambiance. Unfortunately this English pub had no English beers, I did not find the server to be very helpful or pleasant. Some of the food we received tasted as if it had been sitting... More

They have no English beer at this so called "English" pub!?! Only a limited selection of local brews. Very disappointing when I was hoping for a Guinness. Unremarkable food - seemed a bit stale. Service satisfactory but a bit slow. Atmosphere was the best part but even that wasn't great. I would not recommend this place.

We went for supper here on the suggestion of one of the staff at the hotel. Good choice, large portions and very tasty!

Took my adult son out for dinner on Sunday evening and went to The Old English Pub for the last time. The last two times I have been here the service has sucked big time, the last time we waited a complete hour before we had our food order taken, ( the waitress forgot about us). Her words not mine.... More

We hosted a group of 22 for a Rehearsal Party at The Old English Pub on a busy summer Friday evening. It was a perfect place to relax, mix & mingle and enjoy a good meal! Darren, the manager was extremely flexible with menu options. There were also really nice choices for the vegan in our party. The food was... More

We came in randomly back in April for a quick beer, but ended up chatting to the locals and the owner, staying for hours. The owner is such a lovely guy and was offering us samples of all the different beers to try, you could see he had lots of knowledge and passion. He was extremely thoughtful and when I... More

Nice spot, lots of cold beer on tap, clean and nicely decorated. The night we were there they had only one person serving at the bar and waiting tables at the same time. Probably a fluke, but definitely impacted service.

Cloud City Architects were playing....some nice original songs plus covers....a pleasant surprise for a small pub. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was typical pub fare....fish and chips were good...lobster dip was a hit with the kids....burgers were big and quite tasty.....place was baby friendly as a little girl rocked out to the band....very entertaining!
