Cloud City Architects were playing....some nice original songs plus covers....a pleasant surprise for a small pub. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was typical pub fare....fish and chips were good...lobster dip was a hit with the kids....burgers were big and quite tasty.....place was baby friendly as a little girl rocked out to the band....very entertaining!

Somehow, this restaurant has deteriorated. The whole place needs to be spring-cleaned even though it is almost July! There is so much dust on all the rungs of the chairs and the grooves of the cubicles in the wash-rooms that I wondered about the kitchen standards. The steak and kidney pie must be made by a different cook than the... More

Food is bad. Owner is rude and a womanizer. Would not tell anyone to eat there. There is better places in town to eat.

I hesitate to rate a restaurant based on one visit, but as I doubt we'll go back, I'm going to do it anyway. The atmosphere is very nice, with a good layout that minimizes noise between tables and attractive furnishings. Service was quick and friendly even though the solitary waitress had to deal with what was probably an unusual number... More

Stopped in last night for a quick bite and a cold pint....ended up staying for a few hours. Authentic feeling of a proper English pub with some outstanding micro-brew beers. Sat with the owner and sampled many of the offerings while enjoying the live music. Food was fresh and tasty. Will definitely visit again when in Ganonoque. Highly recommend this... More

Make this your first stop the the picturesque city of a thousand islands! It's so awesome to find a gem of a place that has just the right combination of GREAT food, FRIENDLY staff, a WARM and WELCOMING atmosphere and ORIGINAL musical entertainment! As you can see from the photos, the food portions were super generous with close attention to... More

We stopped here for lunch and the surroundings were very pub like. I ordered fish and chips and my husband beef and ale pie. My fish was good but the plate was piled with enough fries for at least 3 servings. No coleslaw or anything else, disappointing. . The pie was not a pie but beef stew piled into a... More

Stepping into the Old English Pub is like stepping into a setting one might experience in "old England." The physical setting is very "woody" with table settings. During our fist visit we enjoyed a "lupper" (a late lunch) sharing a appetizer (Yorkshire pudding stuffed with shaved beef, topped with a dark gravy), a "bacon-bacon cheese burger" (beef patty with Canadian... First 3 beers I attempted to order off the menu were not available. Burger burned...toppings so overpowering you could taste nothing else...bun stone cold...fries so over salted in kitchen they were inedible. Cola seemed to not have correct syrup strength...watery. Half the meal and drink being left uneaten illicited exactly zero question or query from the server re my enjoyment... More

After reading reviews, and only being in town overnight, decided to try this place. We tried to order 3 different beers from their menu, none of which were available. We ordered well done burger that came burnt, with a sauce that was totally overpowering and fries that were pre-salted so strongly that my bf couldn't eat them! My steak and... More
