We came here because of the great reviews on trip advisor and the fact that I love a good schnitzel. My husband enjoyed his sandwich and our kids were happy but I found my schnitzel not to be the best. It was paper thin and didn't taste all that fresh. The spetzle were very good and the service friendly. I... More

One of my favorite restaurant in Gananoque. Home made food, cozy atmosphere. My in-laws love the borsch and every time they come to visit us, they ask to go to Maple Leaf.

We had to wait quite a while for the food to reach our table but it was definitely worth it. Some of the best German food I have ever had and even better that it was all made by the owner and his wife, which explain the wait time. But the food was excellent and the time taken to prepare... More

Excellent lunch in a comfortable, efficient atmosphere. I had the veggie wrap and my partner had a hot chicken sandwich topped with swiss cheese. We both chose the vegetable soup as a side/starter. All dishes were excellent. Food came quickly. We got in just before the crowd because it filled up. It is right in the heart of downtown.

Admittedly, they try to please everybody and the Bohemian (Czech) element therefore suffers. Whom ever heard of schnitzel with spaetzli in Bohemia? The schnitzels we had were too greasy for comfort, nothing of the golden crispness of these offerings in central Europe, being it Germany, Czech Republic or Austria. The borscht up front was nothing but a bowl of undercooked... More

The moment you walk into the Maple Leaf Restaurant you feel like you have been transported to the Czech Republic (we have been there)the decor is so eastern European, don't expect upholstered seats. This is not a gourmet style restaurant but one serving good home style Czech cooking. We both had fish as a main course followed by apple strudel... More

For a Tuesday night in late September, there were surprisingly a good number of patrons. They knew what they were doing. The menu is varied, the food is very good, the service is friendly and the environment is very pleasant. We wanted a lighter meal so did not opt for their 3 course dinner nor for their generous portions of... More

Not sure where to start…….the Borscht is too die for! The Schnitzel is the best, and the beer is the coldest beer you'll ever drink in a restaurant.

We went to this restaurant for lunch while on our weekend gateway. It was very warm day so we were on the side patio which was very cozy. Hubby had borsch which was amazing! He also had burger and fries. Beef burger patty was homemade and juicy. The burger had smoked cheese and pesto which was not typical but worked... More
