If you come for the food, you won't be disappointed, however the customer service is iffy. The management team does NOT make it easy for people who need a little accommodation, and I know many locals who have been put off by attitude. The service size is a bit small for the hefty price tag as well.

All can say, is we arrived were given menus, and proceeded to sit there for 20 minutes. When they served people who arrived after us, we left. A comment about the menu, for a "barbecue restaurant" there was a serious shortage of barbecue options on the menu. Two items using brisket , one a melt and the other a quesadilla,... More

Yes the Pig Iron that I loved so much is closed since October 2012. The city had a new bylaw come in effect hat prohibits the use of a smoker inside. So since the core business was BBQ they closed the restaurant. Boy were we ever disappointed! We actually drove from Montreal to enjoy that wonderful BBQ brisquet sandwhich!!! Oh... More

The atmosphere is 'interesting'. The food is tasty and the coleslaw is amazing. It's in an area of Gan where there are lots of shops which makes this little place a gem.

Closed at this moment, and it looks as if it won't be back. Too bad!! The food, while not "traditional" Bar-B-Que, was still first-rate...

This place is unique, seating I'd terrible with old stacking chairs nd tables, a bench resting on cement bags. With that out of the way,the smoked meats and cold salads are superior, plentiful and well worth a visit. Their coleslaw is like no other, they even have a mac and cheese. Draught beer and wine as well and the prices are good.... More

On the 16th of October we received a Facebook notice that the restaurant was closed until futher notice. No more news was forthcoming so yesterday we went down to Gananoque hoping to have lunch next door in the Socialist Pig Cafe (having checked that they were indeed open and that lunches are on the menu) and to find out when... We had the pulled pork. It was good but not great. It could use more BBQ sauce and the sauce was not as good as I would have expected. I loved the coleslaw and the beans were pretty good too. A good takeout option if you want something different on a Friday night. The restaurant is pretty small so dining... More

Everything is wonderful here: meats, vegetables, drinks, service and the surroundings. Very interesting location in a beautiful small town (Gananoque, Ontario, Canada), within an old factory. The barbeque is wonderful on every level: taste, consistency, flavor. The fresh vegetables were all cooked to perfection. A lot of thought and work have gone into this charming restaurant and the result is... More
