Astonishingly good!

1st time in Vancouver, 1st time at The Pear Tree, did my research on Zagat and TA, brought a bunch of picky women with me…and they all LOVED it. Very fresh and inventive food using a lot of local resources. A pretty little place (not in the best part of town) but well worth the taxi ride. It was... read more

My wife and I love it here. If your lucky, from where you sit, you can view some partial kitchen action. All kitchen staff are uniformed and stationed. Are there practicums kids from the Pacific institute of culinary arts? I don't know nor care. The food is amazing. This is my wife's fav hands down. It has a chic ambience... More

My partner asked to be feted for his birthday at The Pear Tree. We'd had a very pleasant dinner there about a year ago so I was happy to oblige and take along a third person. Unfortunately, it was an expensive mistake. The restaurant was relatively empty on the third Thursday in February so service was quick although a little... More

Yes, the tables are close and the lighting not on the romantic style if that is what you are looking for. However the food was what you would expect in Europe in a good neighborhood restaurant. Inventive with the best ingredients at the time. Especially liked the included accompanying pea shoot salad.

We live in the area and have walked past this interesting restaurant many times curious to try. I was please to take my Wife there and celebrate her Birthday. The interior of the restaurant is smallish. It's a tight dining room but the style of it is nice. I felt like it has too much light and that the tables... More

It's a nice room and the dishes are beautifully presented, but, wow, way too salty. I did not enjoy the food. I had the scallops and the steelhead. I tasted my companions ribs and tenderloin and found the sauce unpleasant. The creme brule was very good.

We went on a week night so the restaurant was very quiet. The place is modern, clean and simple, nice place. There was only one waiter and he was really nice and pleasant. The presentation of the food was good and I can feel that the chef has put lots of effort. However I found the food was on salty... More

Make sure you dine here- the food is simply amazing - we have been diners here for a few years now and the husband and wife ream make this a truly wonderful dinner experience. The space is tight but there is a pleasant atmosphere and the service is excellent - on the pricy side for really smaller plates but every... More
