The first day we arrived to Vancouver we had a dinner there, and since then it's become our 1st place to go to and enjoy a good meal. The ambient is not fancy, and but an excellent place to enjoy tasty food.

Having just recently moved into the area, we were excited to venture out and find the little neighbourhood gems and we thought we found one here. Tip 1) having never eaten Turkish food previously, we asked our waiter, Mustafa, for his recommendations and were advised that the specialties were the Iskender (available in beef, chicken or vegetarian) and the lamb... We had a fabulous Wednesday night dinner here and practically had to roll back to the car because we couldn't stop eating. Even ordered a serving of addictive Ajuka (roasted eggplants, red peppers and walnuts) and freshly baked whole wheat Lavash to take home. When we placed the first order of Ajuka as an appetizer, the waiter suggested that he... More

I think the food that they serve is great, looks great, tastes great, BUT, if you have spent more than a week in Turkey, you'll realize that their food is more Arabic than Turkish. The name of the restaurant is definitely misleading. Trust me. How do I know? I'm from Turkey and I actually grew up eating real Turkish food.

We just left this restaurant and I had to submit a review on it. First of all, don't expect fancy decor and great service but you're going for the food, remember that! The food took a little long to come....maybe 30min but I would wait an hour! Their bread was unbelievable and the yogurt they serve it with will blow... More

My family has been all over the world, but never to Turkey. We decided the next best thing was Turkish food, so my wife found Anatolia's Gate. It was clean and simple in layout, with a big brick oven behind the counter. Turks love fresh bread called lavash, which is much like a pita on growth hormones. Ours was at... More

This restaurant is pretty low key and off the beaten path, but the food is fantastic. I always eat too much here, partly because of the delicious bread (which is huge!) that comes at the beginning with the great yogurt dip. We had the lamb curry, too, but with the large portions, had enough left over for another meal the... More

Excellent service and clean premises! They have Halal meat and some of the staff also spoke Arabic - making it easy to order and get directions. very large portions for a very reasonable price!

The first time we went there (two years ago) we were impressed by the quality of food. But the last two times we went there, we were really disappointed. They serve awesome bread and yogurt at the beginning of the meal, but that is the only good thing. All the kebabs are dry and the meat tasted awful. The rice... More
