Great for exotic-flavor junkies, and even vegetarians

I've taken friends to Simba's at each of their locations: Denman and the one in Burnaby near Edmonds station. The first time (Burnaby), I tried the Barracuda, and asked for it 'spicy.' Whew!! Did they ever deliver the spice! The table condiments were delectable, especially the coconut chutney... read more

Simba's features a distinctly African fusion decor and dining offering. The servers dressed in floor-sweeping Afro prints were very helpful in providing recommendations. The menu highlights are the spicy barbecue and curry dishes where coconut is the star. The condiments on the table are a must-try. My favourite was the pepper and herb ground coconut - I could probably eat... More

I just had to try this African experience. The food was nicely spiced and a very large portion. (I had the Goat Biriani). The hstaff were excellent, and the Boss "call me Simba" was ever present and only too pleased to explain what spices were what. ( I think his name is Kurshid Khan, seen on TV or somewhere). Small... Simba's food makes you feel good. His restaurant has a great atmosphere and the staff are always kind. This is a great place to go with anyone that loves good food. Every time I have gone, the owner has been there and he always makes sure everyone in his shop is enjoying their meal! Any time I have visitors come... More

We walked in here by chance as we were aimlessly looking for food. I wouldn't say that the food is moderate or inexpensively priced as it is somewhat pricy, but the taste is quite interesting. I would consider the spices to be somewhat like Indian, but it's not.The ambiance is fairly good and the staff and owner were great.

This place was a nice change of pace, we were quite happy to find something a little different than usual. The decor is funky, the space is small and quaint. The food was fantastic! Super tasty, and huge portions which nobody quite managed to finish. Was so refreshing to find goat stews and cassava fries and things..! Although their were... More

We've eaten here on both our recent trips to Vancouver, and will be back! Great African inspired food with spicy but not too hot sauces. Options for vegetarians are available, especially if they eat fish. We loved the deep fried cassava root and fried fish bites as appetizers. We then had the lamb biryani, curried mushrooms, shrimp with spinach, and... More

It's a cozy African restaurant very close to the Stanley park. Their Kebobs and Beryani are the best. I believe the food style is from Kenya, and it is actually a fusion with Indian spices and rice. It's super delicious and the owner himself would walk around the tables to greet you and make sure you liked your food. The... More
