If you are on Denman Street (or are looking for a reason to go) make sure you stop at Simbas Grill. An amazing fusion of African and South Asian tastes. Guaranteed to make you never look at food the same way again. If you like butter chicken (you know you do) then try the chicken Surwa... Your taste buds will... More

Visited the place with my friend and loved the atmosphere and food. Reminded me of home cooking. Love the spicy ribs and their kuky choma. Enjoyed the fact that on Saturday, there was a live singer and helped make the atmosphere and decor more lively and entertaining. Looking forward to coming back again on a Saturday.

We had no idea of what to expect when we ate at Simba's Grill on Denman but it was very enjoyable. Other reviews were right--large helpings--we had the mixed grill for two and had take-home for the next day. The food was just spicy enough. We met both the owner and his wife, most hospitable people. We will certainly return... More

Our host at Rosella Suites said he could recommend most of the eateries on nearby Denman street for lunch, so we set out to window shop. We travel to Africa several times a year and very much like sampling the food offerings, so Simba's caught my eye. Usually, we pick ethnic food places based on the crowd- is it full,... More

Went to the location on Denman last night with a friend of mine. Ordered from Kurshid, the man himself who was friendly and accessible. We went to order three dishes but he was so kind as to tell us that it would be too much! I asked for the dishes to be spicy, so rather than making the dishes too... More

if you like spicy food with an Indian twist, this is a very good restaurant. Food is great, very nice owners, and reasonably priced for the quality of food you receive. We go there at least 2-3 times a year

We ate at the Denman Street location and it was fantastic! The food was wonderful and full of interesting spices. Having a Tusker to wash it all down was especially enjoyable! The staff was courteous and helpful. A definite must-try!

We had one beef dish and a curry dish for lunch. Their volume was way more than for two people; it probably fed three people comfortably. They are said to be typical foods from East Africa (the owners are from Kenya) with a clear hint of influence from the Indian sub-continent. We personally prefer common Indian foods to the East... I love this place, the service, welcome and food is awesome. The owner, Yasmin always remembers what i ordered every visit i make, she makes me feel special and welcomed like an old family friend....i took 8 people from work this time, and my group was so impressed with the service, detail to attention and ofcourse the consistancy of the... We've actually travelled to Africa and can say this food is the real deal. The service was excellent (helped our party choose a variety of dishes to please everyone), the food very yummy, and the portions are large. Definitely worth seeking out this restaurant!
