Ordered take out while visiting my folks on the island. Walked in to place my (large) order which was ready, as promised, 40 minutes later. I work in the heart of downtown Vancouver and eat sushi often ~ I have to say that the sushi from Wasabiya was right up there. The Dungeness crab and scallop nigiri was some of... More

Wasabiya is my favourite sushi restaurant in Campbell River. I find that many of the sushi joints that have recently opened up in town are over sauced, over-fried and overly sweet. Wasabiya does sushi right, adding the perfect amount of flavour/ingredient combinations as to not take away from the experience of tasting what is actually in the rolls etc.. The... More

Recently moved to campbell river from Victoria and was told to go here for the best sushi in town compared to sushi establishment in Victoria this place is terrible and expensive ($15 for 4 pieces of tuna and 4 pieces of salmon)so bad I will not give it a second chance anyone who rates this place as good has never... We ordered take out a couple of nights ago. Have had a good meal in the past when we dined in. The take out was absolutely horrible . We threw most of it out. It seems take out is the way Wasabi gets rid of their unsold merchandise. Fearing food poisoning we threw it out. We were leaving early the... More

Seriously best sushi on the north island we drive up for it! Consistent time and time again. Not a bad price considering how great it is too! Make reservations this place gets full.

Another wonderful lunch at this great restaurant; as usual, service was fantastic, and the food amazing. I usually have the Take Bento Box because it's just so hard to decide on just one or two things here. Other favourites of mine are the Ebi Sunomono, Smoked Salmon Salad, Spicy Grilled Tuna, Gyoza, Mixed Tempura, and various Maki Sushi rolls.

Try to eat here at least monthly... but I don't always remember to take my camera. As well as the usual and classic fare, Hiro and his crew have started making their own Gyoza in-house, themselves... like WOW!!! This month's special dishes include striped jellyfish, sort of shredded, swerved over slivered cucumber nested on marinated seaweed... the light "sauce" has... More

The smoked salmon salad is one of my favorite things in this restaurant - but the list goes on and on!

I've been to most of the sushi places in the area. Spend your money somewhere else! This place used to be the only Sushi restaurant in the area but now there are several. Their prices are highs me their rolls are small. I've spent less and fed my family better at Sushi Mong or Miki's. There is no where to... More

We have been going to this wonderful Japanese restaurant for many years now. After moving over 2 hours away from the area, it is always one of our hi lights when traveling back there. Excellent atmosphere combined with wonderful friendly service and fantastic food made this a must when in Campbell River. The spicey grilled tuna is my favourite and... More
