Good Food, Good ambiance, good prices

The food does not disappoint, the service is good, the ambiance is great. I go here about once a month and have never had a disappointment. Gluten free options are excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Although this is an original 5th street establishment in Courtenay, the Atlas Cafe continues to be a funky place without the essential ingredient: fantastic tasting food. It therefore surprises me this place is rated #2 on the list of top places in the geographic area. Their ingredients are fresh but every time I have been there over the last decade... More

I was expecting a more worldly experience from the Atlas Cafe, considering it is rated the number 2 restaurant in Courtenay. Sadly, the $17.95 chicken and mushroom quesadilla paired with the mixed green salad fell flat and was not worth half that price. The mushrooms were far from magic and the chicken was scarce. The creamy mushroom soup appetizer was... More

Great organic food and a wonderful atmosphere. Took my family for brunch and all enjoyed their meals, fron two teenagers to two retirees.

We tried a few different appies and each of them were such a great mix of flavours. One of the tarts we asked if they could cut it before they brought it so we didn't make a mess trying to share. They cut it but kept it pressed together so they didn't ruin the presentation. This made us chuckle, but... More

Until this visit I had found no Mexican food in a Vancouver Island restaurant that tasted better than a TV dinner heated in a microwave oven. All this changed with one visit to the Atlas cafe and an order of their wonderful chicken enchiladas. This may be the best true mexican style enchilada meal I have ever eaten. Not Sonora... More

Had lunch in the back patio- friendly fast service. Had a lot of gluten free options. I had coconut curry bowl I added chicken. It was awesome. I will be back to try more dishes.

My husband and I had lunch at this charming little Bistro. The menu had selections that seem to span the globe but we settled on Mexican and italian. The portions were generous and the meals were tasty. I being lactose intolerant the waiter suggested goat cheese for the Caesar salad which turned out to be a very good suggestion. And... More

You simply cannot go wrong choosing the Atlas for breakkie, lunch or dinner. The menu has great diversity. The food is beautifully prepared and presented. Its both predictable so if you love something on the menu (like the Spinach salad) you know it will just as good this week as it was a few weeks back AND there are always... More

This popular little restaurant in downtown Courtenay was celebrating its 20th anniversary when my friend and I dropped over for supper about a week ago. I had the fish tacos and my friend ordered the Atlas burger. The service was friendly and the food was excellent. We were each treated to a piece of carrot cake as part of the... More
